1088 Tasting Notes
Another non caffeinated 52Teas favourite: chocolate, orange, and a hint of cream. The rooibos nicely underscores the flavours.
Yesterday, I had one of my very favourite ice creams in the city—roasted marshmallow— and as I was making my way through my two scoops, I made a note of mentioning it to Anne because boy oh boy would it make a fab tea. I don’t know how one would get that slippery sticky marshmallow flavour in a tea though. The smokey crispy marshmallow bit, I think are manageable, likely with a lapsang but that gooey centre part. And then, the ice cream creaminess. Oh boy. Just parking it all here.
I predict another visit to that ice cream parlour in my near future.
Oh my gosh toasted marshmallow icecream tea would be amazing. Maybe some buttercream and caramelized sugar flavour in there to sell the icecream part. Yum!
Yeah, I’ve been thinking of a marshmallow ripe pu-erh… it’s a good thing I’ve never had whatever this ice cream is that you’re talking about. haha.

Maybe you need to come for a visit.
Stumbled upon this and it was perfect for a rainy day.
It seems that the first tea I reach for is exactly the right one for me that day, in most cases anyway. With this in mind, I separated two boxes of opened focus teas into caffeinated and uncaffeinated today. We’ll see how this approach works out.Quite enjoyed my five or six steeps of this today. The first few have that lovely sweet condensed milk thing going on, moving into more floral followed by vegetal.
I took this with me to a meditation session today. And boy, did I need to meditate! I had great plans for the earlier part of the day and it all went sideways. The weather was lovely though, so there’s that. And my meditation instructor is a superstar and for that I am profoundly grateful.
There’s something about this one with the bergamot and the berries irritating each other in flavour when it is hot. The marshmallow softens this a bit, but not until the tea sits.
Tricky. I prefer it, for the most part, when the tea sits for a good long while, like overnight. So I have two or three remaining travel mugs of this to enjoy cold or cold-ish in the morning.I keep waiting for the day that this tea will lose its magic for me. And nope. Still absolutely magnificent.
My neighbours are sports fans. Last night was a hockey playoff and their team won. Yay for that as it is my home team too. That said, I don’t go out in the street in the middle of the night to scream, scream, and scream repeatedly over several hours when my team wins.
I guess that’s what happens when sports watching is supported by power drinking and merrymaking throughout the night.
Needless to say, I was woken throughout the night despite wearing earplugs—because after all, these people have been waking me up for over three years now and I have been making an effort to fortify myself with whatever it takes to be able to get a good night’s sleep. To no avail.
I am exhausted today, truly wiped. I most definitely need a marvellous cup of tea or two. Probably several good strong hugs as well.Haha. Intermittently for hours. They leave the house screaming and then go to the car and scream some more on the way to the car. Go somewhere. Scream some more when they get back and so on.
