Wow what a start for this day.
A little chilly and overcast outside.
But Chai Black inside, can cut thru anything.
Good Rich Black tea, with Strong pungent spice.
With sweet afternotes, Great Starter cup
Preparation
After this last cold, I’m stepping things up for this winter!
The cinnamon aroma is really nice, but the taste is kinda flat. Gonna try steeping it a bit longer and see if it makes a difference.
Overall, fairly good, but wouldn’t drink it very often, if it weren’t for the immune boosters in it.
If ever there was a day that I needed stress relief, it is today. I am now safely at home and, unless the zombie apocalypse comes, I plan on ignoring the vast majority of humanity.
After one (rather large) glass of wine, I’ve decided to brew up the sample of this that amandajo sent to me. Scent of the brewed “tea” is rather different…I can’t quite put my finger (nose) on it. It’s sweet-smelling, and slightly herbal, but then it’s not…
Oh, I can taste the carob. And the cinnamon. And there’s ginger, too. The spices are slightly chai-like, and I find that very lovely. It’s got a rather chocolatey taste to it.
Not sure if it’s the wine that’s mellowed me out, or if this stuff really works that fast. One thing’s for sure, I’ll be picking up a box of this the next time I see it. And will be putting bags in my purse and at my desk at work.
Preparation
Maybe it’s because I’m a trail mix fan, or of ANY kind of nut, rather, but I was hoping for a more hazelnutty flavor. (Scratch that, I’m obsessed with nuts—so yogi, why is your hazelnut tea not very nutty?)
I added a dollop of almond milk and a touch of stevia—which did only a little for the hazelnut flavor. While it’s not a bad tea, it’s just lacking in the ‘nut flavor’ department.
Almost everyone at work has been calling in sick lately ( I should know, I have to find their replacements!). I drank this one this morning as an attempt to bolster my immune system. My sister gave this tea to me as it was not to her liking. I would probably have never bought it myself, my last attempts at drinking anything with echinacea have gone terribly wrong. Upon deciding to drink it, I figured I could at least try choking it down for my health. I was wrong! This is actually pretty pleasant and quite drinkable. It’s kinda minty, and yes the echinacea is there but its not too pungent and kinda sweet. Would I choose to drink it if it were not cold season? Probably not, but for this purpose, this is the best I’ve tried by far!
Thanks cofftea, may have to give that a whirl. :) And how do you make text bold on here? I’ve tried html to no avail (maybe I’m doing something wrong?
My husband choked down a cup of this the other night. No, he still does not really like tea… yes, he is still a work in progress. ;) You do not want to know what he said this tea tasted like, it was not pleasant, lol. But he did say that it seemed to help him sleep, which is awesome, considering that he does not like taking pills for such things.
Licorice, Cinnamon, and Carob is an odd combination. Not necessarily bad, just different and takes some getting used to. It is certainly a strong tea (as one would undoubtedly gather just by reading the ingredient list!). Are the flavors fighting each other? A bit, but its kind of an enjoyable fight. Think of a black licorice whip wrapped around a cinnamon stick with a carob pod shoved in there. Do I feel any different after drinking it? Yes, I think I do feel calmer and less “bitchy”. I think I like the taste, its growing on me.
It smells as promised, spicy hot chocolate. But from my experience, if you want hot chocolate, you drink hot chocolate. (Of course I know not everybody can, and this yogi tea is not a bad substitute, but still.)
The important part of the name, is “aztec spice” rather than “choco”. The taste is spoiled for me by the cinammon and liquorice – which I don’t like when infused, and they’re taking over the cacao notes here. It feels like a light, light version of a chai tea, without the tea, and with a bit of chocolate. Without the name “choco”, it’s actually nice to drink :)
I wouldn’t have the idea of adding milk/sugar to a tisane, but now that I read other comments, I’ll definitely try.
Preparation
Mixed this 50-50 with Celestial Seasonings’ Madarin Orange Spice tonight, and I like it a lot better this way. The anise taste is still there, especially on the back end, but it’s not the only thing going on anymore. The orange comes through very well in the aroma and beginning of a sip. I’m not going to adjust the rating, but I’d give this particular blend at least a 50.
Preparation
Ugh. I’m drinking this because I have a sore throat tonight, and it’s the only throat tea in my cupboard, apparently. I don’t think I realized, when I bought a full box, that it tastes much more licorice-y than Traditional Medicinals :( almost undrinkably so, for me. Almost, but not quite, when my throat hurts.
It’s effective, and sweet, so if you don’t mind fennel or anise it’s a great choice. I, on the other hand, might need to give the rest of the box away so I have an excuse to buy TM’s instead…
