Advent of the day!
This is a very mild chai, almost more a gentle black tea with the lightest dusting of spices. Not what I was expecting from a blend called “Rise and Chai”.
I don’t dislike it, but it’s not left the very strongest impression.
Monday! And a Monday after a terrible nights sleep. Its been really horribly windy around here, meaning things went bump in the night all night, waking me up with scrapings against the windows, thuds from the walls, and weird skittering noises across the roof.
Brilliant.
So myself and my sinuses will be drinking a lot of tea today.
I think I hit optimal richness with this one today- a good balance of the hearty pu-erh and the chai. Still not convinced that the combo works, but at least it does not offend.
I am not 100% convinced that the Pu-erh and chai spices really work together, but I can’t figure out what it is that doesn’t work. So I am in limbo with this tea, not sure quite what I think about it.
Its very earthy, but not overwhelmingly so. A solid presence in my morning.
I’m just not sure about the chai!
Ok, my new work tea is this, a puerh and black tea blend with chai spices. Its in sachets, and its a perfect work tea because I am not impressed with it.
Its not dreadful, mind you, but I do not find anything particularly memorable or delicious about it. Its earthy, the Pu-erh I suspect, with an aftertaste of general chai spices, but it will do the job of work tea very nicely.
My part of the world is currently plagued by wildfires. There are none close enough so that I am in any immediate danger, but the smoke is everywhere, and there has been a fine dusting of ash on everything. We are all supposed to stay indoors as much as possible.
Ok then.
My sinuses do not like this air quality, so I am making quite a dent in the work tea collection. Next up is this, which I have decided to put myself in the liking category for.
Its very light, resfreshing, and well balanced!
One really gets a sense of the jasmine, as I brew this up. Its a delicate, pleasant jasmine, not overly floral or otherwise overwhelming. Nice!
I don’t get any of the citrus in the smell, but it all comes out in the flavor. Its quite citrus-y, almost to the point of drowning out the tea and jasmine.
Hmm. More cups are needed by way of analysis.
This is a decent enough black tea. I didn’t find anything particularly wonderful or awful about it. I think it would make a great base for a stronger tea blend, but on its own, it’s just okay. Not something I’d order again, but I’ll finish the sample I got.
I love this tea on a cold winter’s morning to get me started. It reminds me a lot of a sweet chai which I really enjoy. It’s a little strong for a daily drinker, but excellent as an occasional pick-me-up.

So its mid day I have been up since 6 am done a 40 min cardio, taken the kids to school and currently at work and have already put in 13,000 steps and needed a pick me up. I quickly remember that I took my Shagadelic English Breakfast sample to work today and after all it does say to boost your mojo which is exactly what I needed.
I let this brew for 3 mins as I was anxious for my first sip and boy I was not disappointed. This is a gorgeous blend incredibly smooth taste with a hint of honey and malt with a subtle aftertaste. Oh yeah this is a great cup!
Flavors: Honey, Malt

Oh my I am enjoying this tea this morning. I woke up 6:00 a.m and got my cardio in and am at work enjoying my second big mug full of this tea. The smell has a wonderful vanilla and citrus smell but not over powering or anything the two flavors actually work together. I brewed this up with just one teaspoon of splenda and it was utter perfection. I have been quite pleased with the black and green teas from the tea spot.
Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Vanilla

I don’t think I like pumpkin chai at all, I have tried Davids Tea pumpkin chai and wasn’t impressed and I tried this one last night and it actually makes me feel sick. Don’t get me wrong I love chai and I love pumpkin but put this together and something wrong happens, I get sickly rotten pumpkin smell. Sorry really didn’t enjoy this one at all!
Flavors: Nutmeg, Pumpkin
