I picked up 100 g of this tea before Teavana closed. I tried it in store and fell in love and it was just as good at home. It has a strong blood orange flavour. I find it is best served iced. I finished my entire tin and wish I could buy more. I will definitely miss this one.
Flavors: Blood orange
Preparation
I ended up with 200 g of this by buying 4 ice tea kits on sale before Teavana closed. I found this to be an average fruity iced tea. Not bad but nothing special about it. I finished my tin today and am not really going to miss it. I like my Strawberry Lemonade to taste more like strawberries and less like apples. So, while it was refreshing on a hot summer day, I don’t feel the need to get any more even if the option was available.
Flavors: Apple, Strawberry
Preparation
A coworker brought this in to work but teavana is now closed so I just had to gaiwan it:
(Gongfu style): 90C, 10 second rinse, 10s, 10s, 15s, 25s, 30s. All steeps had varying levels of melon. The rinse and the first steep taste of honeysuckle/sugarcane, its pleasant. Second steep is more of an orchid and ever so slightly milky taste. Then on it is orchid. Tastes good though! Not quite as drying as western style.
(Western style): 3 minutes, 85C. Easily re-steepable, has a pleasant melon flavor and mouth-drying quality to it
Flavors: Honeysuckle, Melon, Sugarcane
Not going to rate this one, as I’m not sure how old my sample is. I’m getting a weak apple flavor and a bit of cinnamon, but mostly the rooibos base coming through. Apple seems to be a hard flavor to get right in tea for some reason!
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Rooibos
Preparation
I am generally a big fan of strawberry teas so I picked up 50 g of this to try from my local Teavana before it closed. I’m glad I only got 50 g because I wasn’t a big fan. I found this tea to be too tart. All I really tasted was tartness. There wasn’t much of a strawberry or any other flavour. I wouldn’t repurchase this one.
Flavors: Tart
Preparation
Wasn’t expecting to like this much, since I am not a big fan of tiramisu dessert. I was actually pleasantly surprised! Nice light chocolate flavor with a distinct coffee tinge that is not overpowering. Decided to re-steep again and still had decent flavor on second try (although I don’t typically need a strongly brewed tea in the first place to enjoy). Happy to say this will be a new nighttime dessert swap-out favorite.
Tried cold steeping this into iced tea yesterday. It was alright, might be better with higher quantity of tea. I’m not a big mint fan, so chalk it up to that, but I just can’t seem to get behind this tea. May try with lemonade or mix into a cocktail.
Another one of Teavana’s popular blends with appeal I just don’t quite understand.
This was vaguely citrusy. It wasn’t a sweet citrus note. It was a mild orange note. I’d liken the flavor to that of an orange that’s been plucked from the tree too soon. Apart from that, there was a random berry note that I couldn’t quite place.
It wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was more palatable than Pineapple Berry Blue.
I really don’t understand the appeal of this tea. I’m glad I didn’t care for it since Teavana’s closed up shop.
I didn’t get any distinct pineapple or blueberry flavors. I got primarily hibiscus, red rooibos (ICK!), and a very nondescript berry note. I drank one glass over ice and won’t be steeping another.
I am definitely getting a light blueberry flavor but there is something I don’t like in this tea and I am thinking it’s the beet. I didn’t like Just beet it by Davidstea either and that was my first time trying beet in tea. So I am going to blame it on the beets.
I scored a big bag at 75% off when Teavana closed it’s doors. Glad I did. I plan to compare side by side to Harney & Sons GM.
This is malty, smooth, and sweet with cocoa notes and a dry finish. Delicious.
Flavors: Cocoa, Malt, Sweet
Preparation
I did a side by side a few eyars back of those two. I preferred Harney to this one. It will be interesting to see your opinion! Have you tried either of Teavivre’s GM’s?
I just made 1st Teavivre order- did not include the GM but if I like what I chose then I will add that one on next time…I still have a lot of GM to sip down!
Excellent! I have never been disappointed by Teavivre and I have given a lot of it for gifts and other people seem to like it, too. I hooe you love everything you ordered! I will be doing a side by side comparison of two of their teas that I haven’t tried yet as soon as my order gets here.
Before Teavana shut down their online store I bought a bunch of this. The BF is a fan of all things peach, and I like that flavor pretty well, too.
I think next time I may use a bit more of the mix. Generally these sorts of blends taste better to me “overleafed.” Doing the math, I actually underleafed from the directions in retrospect. I don’t usually make more than just enough for me, and since I made enough for the BF too I got confused.
This definitely has a predominant peach aroma and flavor and is plenty sweet even without doubling. Fortunately, the pineapple doesn’t drown out the peach. The citrus note is just enough of an accent not to detract from the rest. It seems to serve the purpose that the tarragon serves in Refresh — it keeps the dominant flavors from being too too.
There’s a slight sour/bitter undertone that comes through in the finish and that may be the chamomile, but I think overleafing may result in this being lessened or removed. We’ll see next time.
The peach is fine — it tastes natural. The color is a little strange — it’s a light golden yellow, which I didn’t expect for some reason.
Flavors: Citrus, Peach, Sour, Tart
Preparation
This is a nice tea. The leaves almost look like pine needles. They’re straight and dark green. The liquor is a light gold color when brewed. It smells like seaweed chips, like sea air. It has a bit of a salty taste. It has qualities that are typical of a green tea astringent, grassy, plant-like, vegetal, herbaceous. It’s smooth and light and flavor. To me, it doesn’t taste bitter when brewed properly.
Flavors: Asparagus, Astringent, Grass, Green, Hay, Herbaceous, Kale, Lettuce, Plant Stems, Plants, Seaweed, Smoked, Spices, Spinach, Straw, Vegetal
The leaves are small little and tight before brewing. They’re a nice bright green as well. They look almost like pine needles. It’s amazing how they unfurl to almost a full leaf and look almost brown when brewed. The liquid is a golden yellow color. It smells very floral. Almost like a chamomile. It tastes floral, astringent, it has a vegetal note as well, like grass. It has a mild nutty flavor.
Flavors: Astringent, Floral, Flowers, Nutty
Preparation
Never thought I would see them try to make a sea salt caramel into a tea. Then again it seems like Teavana will try anything. Well from the very first smell I thought it would be a hit. Wafts of chocolate and cream first hit you when you open your tin. I honestly didn’t notice much of a smell as it was steeping and the wet smell is just.. there. Honestly, the flavor isn’t bad but the liquid is not fun to look at. Like hmm… what is all that floating in my cuppa?
If ratings were based off of smell and taste this tea would lose most of its points. It smells, so weird. The liquid isn’t very pretty to look at either. As far flavor goes, it definitely lives up to it’s name with hints of coconut and spices and an interesting after taste with a ginger zip. But it’s not one I would go out of my way to buy. Surprisingly the rooibos isn’t as strong as I thought it would be. Just not my digg.
This is one of my favorite blends of Teavana teas. I got a huge bag of it for $6 at a store closing sale, and my life will never be the same! It’s the most delightful floral and fruity blend, without being too much of either. I’m going to be super sad when I finish this bag.
Flavors: Citrus, Floral, Fruity, Jasmine
