Not bad! I found this sweet and rich and nicely spiced but not overbearing. I’m a bit scared of apple/apple-cinnamon teas as they can be too artificial tasting or otherwise gross. This was nice.
Also the first (decent) tea ever given to me as a gift!
Preparation
It smells very vanilla-y. Taste-wise, there’s not too much caramel. It’s just smooth.
Preparation
After sticking my nose in many a tea-filled can at the Teaopia shop at my local mall I decided on a cuppa of this one, mainly because it smelled powerfully fresh, green, creamy and surprise, surprise! – like coconut! Prepared according to either Teaopia’s specifications or whatever the woman working there decided to do with it (I confess being too busy talking myself out of buying a nice lidded mug to pay attention). I enjoyed the cup, although I’m not sure if that was mostly because of the flavour or because it was a nice, hot beverage on a distinctly nippy day. Unfortunately despite the tempting smell the taste was decidedly lacking. Sniffing the bewed tea delivered the scent of coconut, and a sort of creamy, maybe slightly sweet note, but my mouth got just a hint of the green tea base and a mild sweetness towards the back of my tongue that faded quickly. There was none bitterness you can get from improperly prepared green tea which was nice but it was pretty bland overall. Definitely more of a temptress to my nose then a lover to my tongue. Alas.
This is one of my husband’s favorite teas. The vanilla and grenadine give this a unique flavor. I don’t always taste vanilla in some tea blends, but it definitely comes out in this one. The tea leaves, liquor smell, and the taste all contain a hint of vanilla.
It’s a good flavored black tea that won’t surprise you with any weird flavors. If you want to serve tea to some friends who may or may not like it, this one is a safe bet.
Preparation
Aroma: Bright, Grassy
Liquor: Pale Yellow/Green – Like Olive Oil
Flavour: Vegetal, Robust
Steeped Leafs: Expanded nicely, not uniform (brewed leafs different sizes, flaky), weak smell
Comments: Please Note: This is my first loose leaf tea tasting while taking notes. I found the flavour not too strong or too weak. This is a good Green Tea for everday drinking. Would recommend this as an afternoon tea.
Preparation
Lately this has been my favorite (flavored) black tea to drink. The smell isn’t overpowering, and neither is the flavor once you brew it.
It goes down really smooth, none of the flavors will knock your socks off. The vanilla and bourbon work really well together, even though the bourbon flavoring is pretty subtle.
Preparation
Just what I’m looking for: apple and cinnamon combined evenly. A lot of apple cinnamon teas forget the apple and end up tasting more like the cinnamon, but this is a good one. If you know of any others that are more apple tasting, let me know.
Preparation
Too strong my tastes to drink as a cup. “Smokey punch to the throat” as another reviewer described about sums it up for me. Smells like a campfire – which is nice, but not to drink. However, I do use it in cooking, so it gains some points for that. Makes a nice marinade for salmon.
Preparation
I just picked up this tea the other day and just had some now-I love the flavor of assam, it tastes medium to full bodied with a definite theine kick to it- I would love to go to India in a few years- going to see “Eat Pray Love” today can’t wait. Anyway-I ama purist at heart and in mind and soul-and that is why I am narrow minded and always stick with India and China Teas!!!! Have a wonderful day
Preparation
This tea is strange. I know, an odd thing to say in a ‘tea rating,’ but it’s true!
Imagine stepping out into a rose garden complete with flowers that have freshly bloomed. Now take a deep ‘imaginary’ smell in this garden. This is basically what Garden of Eden smells like. Now imagine drinking flowers.
Once you get passed this, the tea is really quite lovely, just hard to get used to as a result of the overpowering perfume scent of the flowers.
If you’re into floral tea and enjoy white tea, this could be a worthwhile trial though!
Thanks LiberTEAS!!!
This smells much like my first Lychee Experience…fruity sweet but there was also a ‘paint thinner’ type smell to it…seriously…but luckily the fruity sweet outweighs the paint thinner in this case! It then smells almost like wine after dissolving. A very nice fruity sweet wine like aroma!
It’s sweet and fruity to taste but also matcha/green tea true as well! This is pretty good!
So grateful I was able to try it! Thanks again, LiberTEAS!!!
Just now finishing off a yummy Matcha smoothie. Banana, frozen strawberries, yogurt and Matcha Lychee. It doesn’t look pretty, but it sure tastes good!
As far as unflavored Matcha goes, I love DoMatcha. Camellia Sinensis also has a great Matcha – Matcha Sendo I think it is? That one is very good also. I like Den’s Matcha too.
Flavored Matcha… well, as far as straight flavored matcha (that is, not a latte or drink mix matcha) I have to give it to the cranberry Matcha from 52Teas.
Drink Mix Matcha – I love Pirate’s Chai (from Pirate’s Chai) and also the Lemonacha from Matcha Mountains.
