Needed a little break from black teas, so pulled this one out. This is different than the very first time i ever tried this, but i like it both ways. this is more pear wheras the first time i had it you could taste more of the other things going on. Either way, something that will be in and out of my cupboard when i need herbals.

this is particularly refreshing today. sweet, juicy pearish tea :)

VariaTEA

What would you say this the best prep method you found for this? Hot? Iced? Teapop? I don’t have much left and I am debating what to do with it

Sil

I haven’t experimented much with it….I brew it hot and drink it either hot or cooled down cause work gets busy haha

All gone! Not going to make my sipdown goal this month (i’m about 5 off) but my weight goal was achieved so i really can’t complain…PLUS i bought a bunch of teas, so not surprising that i didn’t make my number goal.

Kristal

Good for you regardless! progress is progress ;)

Sil

thanks! getting there… at least i’m trending down – that’s the important bit.

Cold brew of this one today to try it out. I think i prefer it hot, but it’s tasty as a cold brew as well. not too sweet, for sure not sour. like the pear taste of this one – though it’s not my perfect pear tea…but it’s a herbal so i can’t complain too much.

not as strong as it was last time i picked this one up. Not too fussed about it though because it’s what i’ve been wanting to have in the house for a while now – more fruit tea choices. Ugh. Here comes summer hahaha

Fjellrev

Hell yeah, more fruit teas for the damn upcoming heat.

Another tea i finished off today. not a repurchase this fall, but one i’d look to picking up more of next summer or maybe in winter. I like the pear taste and it’s refreshing without being cloyingly sweet.

long day is long. it’s hot and humid and i work IN the office now because home is too ho with no air conditioning lol. this was one of my teas from today. I am a fan and would repurchase this when i wanted a pear tea. I have maybe 1-2 cups left and then it will be gone, which is both sad AND happy since my cupboard is back up a little from my small verdant order. not that i’ve added to my cupboard yet…maybe tomorrow when it’s not as hot.

this one is nice though..hot, cold and hot brewed then cooled. so yay for having fruit tea options here in the city!

I’ll be sad when this one is done, but the weather appears to be turning cooler, so that’ll be ok until summer comes around again. :)

I picked this one up yesterday while i was out running around because i’m almost out of my other fruit teas and it looks like summer is going to be around for a bit yet in toronto. There’s fennel in here, which is an unusual add to a lot of pear teas, and i thought it might bring something different to the blend. On the whole, while this didn’t scream “pear” to me….it was close enough and still tasty. I’m happy for another fruit tea in the cupboard and one that i can get readily enough without paying usd :(

drank Fairy Dust by Tealish

Okay, I’m trying to get into rooibos a bit more for evenings and late afternoons, when I’m finished with caffeine for the day. And this tea helped quite a bit.

Fairy Dust Rooibos is perfect for a summer iced tea! I cold steep it and it tastes like summer fruit. The flavours are definitely fairy (faerie) worthy. So, I used two tsp of tea in the travel mug I use for cold steeping and filled it about 2/3 full with water. And then I let it sit in the fridge for a couple nights.

I’m contemplating trying it with vodka, but it’s so delicious I’m afraid of ruining it. lol

Flavors: Floral, Fruity, Strawberry

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more 2 tsp

Thanks, Miss B for the sample!
I did not drink much tea on my trip, since so many other things happened on the trip, and not all of them fun…
Long story short, I broke my arm the night before we left, my car manifested a crack in the engine block when I reached my first destination (Denver), and I had to buy a new one in two days (yay, new car?), the title to the old one got lost in the mail, and then I come home to find a hot water line broken, pumping thousands of gallons pf heated water under the house… :c My trip was essentially a comedy of errors.
BUT… I came home to a garden exploding with bounty, and I had some wonderful days with dear friends and family, and even a few lovely tea times with the mother of my SO!
This was her choice of many rooibos options I brought with me for evening tea with her adorable cup and saucer sets! I used boiling water for 2:30 or 3 minutes, I think.
I was quite sweet naturally, with a good, but not sour, lemon flavor and a long after taste of cream. Veeery nice! The green rooibos was not nearly so warm and woody as red, I really enjoyed it.

Flavors: Cream, Lemon

Broke your arm??? Oh dear! And all the other stuff! Good on you for having such a good attitude about it and remembering the good things. Nice tea time with SO mom is GREAT!

Equusfell

I can certainly have a good laugh about it now that it’s all in the past! More good news is coming to me every day, for example, my little sister is having a baby, and I got my brace off today! Time for some celebratory tea!

drank Electric Earl Grey by Tealish

I just spent like 15 minutes typing this tasting note, then my damn iPad decides to refresh itself. Like WTF. Lost note in steepster space.

So from memory:
In my previous tasting note I was complaining on having no good teas at work. So on my break, I went over to the pharmacy next door to find some pharmacy tea. I was expecting to see only Lipton type tea, but I came across this and a bunch of Tea Forte flavours. I don’t really like TeaForte’s black base, and I have never tried Tealish before that I can remember, and I love bergamot, so I went for this one. It was a bit of a gamble as the in store sample smelled like nothing.

Upon opening the package there is a strong smell of bergamot. MMmmmm, bergamot!! There are a lot of yellow petals that make it look so pretty.

The black base is very mild, slightly sweet. The bergamot is disappointed not as strong as it smells. It is definitely an Earl Grey though. The flower petals meld everything together and make it nice and smooth. I was kind of waiting for a big punch, the electric part. But nothing happened. No electrocution here, not yet anyway.

Overall it is good, definitely better than the drawer tea.

On a side note, bergamot is not listed in the ingredients but flavouring is. I know it is not bergamot oil, but it is kind of weird they didn’t list bergmot flavouring.

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 2 min, 15 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

Ugh, blasted technology.

What a misleading name. I would have expected a vat of bergamot in it.

From the sweet bakery smell of this tea to the different ingredients, the reason I picked this tea because it stood out. I had it iced with soy milk and I enjoyed the sweet almost caramel like taste of this tea. I could almost be deceived and take this tea at face value for what it claims to be: a sweet baked treat. If it wasn’t for the ingredients. That’s why I am recommending Diaz’ book, because people and teas are not always as they appear, no matter how sweet they are.

Books recommended for this tea: This is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz.

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 5 min, 30 sec 8 tsp
