This one really surprised me! I have tried Tulsi tisanes before and they very much taste like Basil. This one was more than that! I could taste a nice amount of lemon verbena and it was delightful! The Tulsi was more subtle than I thought it would be. There are small hints of the other ingredients listed and everything worked out very well together. This may be one of my favorite herbals thus far! Way To Go, TeaFrog!

Steeped this in a semi-traditional method (i.e. I think I remember what Lena posted eons ago, and kind of made it up as I went along) and it turned out pretty well. The hubby loved it, and I thought it was pretty good, but I would have preferred some more spiciness.
However, as a soothing afternoon tea, it hit the spot.
This is very good! I haven’t tried it with milk or sugar yet, but I’m not sure if I want to. It’s sweet with just a hint of black tea. I typically like it when my black tea is swallowed up by a sweet flavor. I taste a bit of chocolate (not a large amount, but enough) and none of the cream, unfortunately. The flavors blend nicely with the black tea. Delish! Thanks lori! I’ll be ordering some of this later.

Generally, I prefer rooibos add-ins that are ice cream flavors: chocolate, vanilla, orange cream—-rooibos just seems made for “smooth.” I’ve always thought minty and fruity stuff didn’t blend nearly as well.
However, the lime and lemongrass in this blend complements instead of distracts. Nice decaf afternoon perk-me-up.

This smells so yummy—like fruitcake, heavy on the cake (and I love fruitcake)!
I can taste the orange most prominently, then the ginger, then cardamom. It’s citrusy like candied orange rinds and spicy like mulled wine. A walnutty, gingerbread flavor arises as it cools. None of the woodsy sawdust of plain rooibos.
This is really a deliciously flavored rooibos. I am enjoying this!

Nice and soothing on my throat. This tea is in perfect balance. Green tea is not what I reach for, but this one is nice and deserves a place in my cupboard.

I just wrote a longer review of this that should publish soon on the Tea Review Blog, but here are some quick notes about this tea. It DOES get better with every sip, but, I am not getting much in the way of nutty flavor as described by TeaFrog, except from the rooibos.
The chocolate flavor is faint, but pleasant. I can taste a bit of the rum, but it isn’t strong either. But what is strong is a sense of creaminess in this tea which is very in keeping with the tiramisu idea. It doesn’t really taste much like mascarpone cheese, but it does have a very creamy, custard-y like taste to it. I am also not getting a strong coffee essence of the tiramisu.
Overall, though, it’s pretty tasty…

The smell of this is amazing!! It’s got a creamy smell which comes across in the taste as well. This is a fantastic rooibos blend! It’s almost orange dreamsicle tasting. Very slightly floral, slighty citrusy, and very creamy!! This is amazingly good, and one that I may have to invest in.
sigh Too many teas…too little time and cupboard space.

I liked this blend much more than other Steepsterites! I had it iced which maybe diluted the strong lemon flavor. But, I love the subtle interplay between the lemon and peppermint. Both of those flavors can be overwhelming but , they seem to cancel each other out in this tea so that I end up w/a mild lemon flavor and the bitter notes of the lemongrass is masked by the peppermint.
This is a very good blueberry flavored white tea – the tea has a nice amount of blueberry flavor but it doesn’t overwhelm the white tea. The white tea tastes light, crisp and clean. The blueberry tastes fresh and authentic – it isn’t overly sweet, but does possess a nice amount of sweetness.

Love this tea. Coconut and vanilla is a perfect combination w the vanilla sweetening the coconut. No need for sugar w this tea. And oddly it can be steeped twice w/full flavor each time.
With some flavored teas, the flavoring is much weaker on a second steep; artificial flavors often wash off on the first steep. I’ve found Adagio particularly bad on this score, and TeaFrog unusually good.
I haven’t had many flavored teas that I’ve bothered to try re-steeping, but that’s interesting. And definitely makes sense.
Teabird- I haven’t found that… and until recently my white tea experience was limited to Adagio. Could steeping parameters affect that? I use a shorter steep w/ lower temp and a lot of leaf.
I have already had an upsetting amount of coffee today and the caffeine rush has passed, time for something calming and soothing. The raw tea smells like a chap stick – the pink “cherry” one that smells like artificial cherry and fruit and wax. This is most likely because I have no idea just how old it is, and it has been in the plastic pouch neighboring four other Tea Frog teas in my tea basket. I feel since I did not repackage them, that they have all melded in aroma. Oh well. I am not put-off by the smell, but the ingredients have me a little wary. There is a lot in here that could get bitter very easily…
That in mind, I go for a small batch, 1 tsp tea, hot water, no additives, infusion time: 3.5 minutes. The liquor is very pink. The aroma has liberated more, I smell hibiscus and citrus. The flavor is surprisingly mild, there is a slight tang to it, I wouldn’t say tart (I don’t think I let it infuse long enough to get tart) but a tang, most likely coming from hibiscus and rosehips. The flavor after the tang is predominantly mango, then a spike of pineapple and papaya flavors finished off by a high citrus note, most likely from the orange peel.
I don’t think this was bad. I think this needs some work. I think that this blended with a green tea or a white tea, maybe some sweetener, and maybe iced would be extremely refreshing. I did not try it this way, I should have enough to do so later…

Got my Teafrog order today! I actually tossed this in as an afterthought, having forgotten that they offer a free sample with every order. So! I used a little less than a teaspoon, because the spices smelled very strong and the black tea is tiny CTC pellets: 3/4tsp for 7oz water seems to have worked fine. The dry leaf smells pretty strongly of anise to me, but the taste is more balanced. With milk and sugar this is a good, spicy chai that I might buy more of (I don’t think I’d want to drink it plain though). I might stretch it by adding some plain black tea next time.
ETA: Lasted fine through 3 steeps, with a little extra Assam. It’s a very nice blend, somehow managing to be spicy without either a pepper or ginger kick.
