Samovar

I like to make this as a latte with SOY milk. I know some might argue it doesn’t bring out the same flavors as dairy milk because soy doesn’t have the same fat content that the spices like to cling to. The first time I had this was at Samovar and it was noticeably made with cows milk. I much prefer it made with soy. It’s better for you that way too.

2 cups boiling water.
2 small tbs of RAW cane sugar
dissolve together
2 large tbs of Masala Chai
simmer for just under 10 minutes
turn up the heat
add just under 2 cups of organic plain soy milk.
Bring to a boil until it starts to foam.
Shut the hit off and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
I like to strain it into a pitcher and drink it all day long.

I brewed it a little too sweet for my tastes, but not sweet enough for my wife. Great blend of spices, tastes comforting and fills the house with a great smell. I enjoyed it very much!

has a very sweet but also roasty green flavor. goes really well mixing it with rice too as an additive :)

Samovar calls this a “sweet” Yerba Mate because they have added organic licorice root. Brilliant idea. I added about a half tsp of honey anyway, but I don’t think it needed it. I expected this Yerba to be lemony which is what I’m used to (Teavana) but it’s not lemony at all…nice change. Not bitter at all. I highly recommend.

Prep: 2 tsp, 12 oz at 170 F for 2 min

Really enjoyed this, even with the rice. Didn’t think I would, but this has made me try more Japanese green teas as well as Chinese. Excellent daily tea.

My first chai and I enjoyed it. I will have to try again with less (possibly no) sugar which is odd for such a sweet tooth. Very different but certainly made the house smell amazing!

An excellent tea I could drink every day. It’s the first Pu-erh that I have enjoyed and I think it’s turned me on for more.
