Salada

The bag tore open when I was stirring the tea so I ended with all these bits of tea leaves in my drink. And to add insult to injury it wasn’t even a good drink! It basically tasted like water with a bit of generic vague berry flavour.

Yeah, this is Tea Fail.

After being so pleased with this last week, I decided to have it again. Oddly, I’m still getting those lemon notes.

1 tea bag in a random amount of water at a random temp for a random amount of time during Bible Study this morning. A stronger green tea, not light like a lot of loose leaf I drink. Definitely not a bad tea… and ABSOLUTELY better than no tea at all. I’m getting some lemon notes which is interesting.

I like this tea when I have a cold, sweetened with either sugar or honey, but I especially like it iced! I put 5 lumps of white sugar in a 1 pt. mason jar with 2 bags, pour over the boiling water, close the jar, and let it sit in the sun for the rest of the afternoon. At the end of the day, I remove the tea bags and add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Some of the best sun tea I’ve ever made! Therefore, I’ve listed my prep. details to reflect my iced tea preparation method.

I got this one from TeaEqualsBliss, it’s not Evil!Tazo Sweet Orange bad, but it’s not great either. It has almost a dusty sort of taste to it and it has a bit of a perfumy note that makes me think of jasmine tea – but not quite. It’s like the flavour goes halfway to a proper jasmin taste and then quits.

I thought this was a decent medium strength green tea with some nice spearmint. Backlogging from last night.

First sip tasted like cigarettes…eeeeeeeww. After the first sip it did taste a bit normal (or was it hot water???) but nothing special at all. blah.

Tastes like sour cough medicine…yuck…

Not terrible but not great…it’s just very light on taste and mild on character!

It was alright. Tasted like berries mostly.

Drinking this was like drinking hot cough syrup. Mom tried to make iced tea from it but had to dump it. It was so bad that I actually wrote to Salada and complained that they should be ashamed to put such crap on the market. They responded with a wad of coupons for all types of Salada tea.

I find that steeping for more than 2 minutes (it recommends 2-5) produces too sharp a flavor for my taste. It’s a good choice when I’m craving pure tea. Sometimes I’ll add most of a teaspoon of honey to sweeten and soothe.

This is definitely different than most teas I drink. It’s not particularly dark, complex or full-bodied; its smell and initial taste is fairly sweet. The sweetness is dampened only upon swallowing. From this experience, I can say it works wonderfully as a palate-cleanser for chocolate _. But in its own right, it’s enjoyable in a lighthearted, scherzo-like way…

I will re-attempt it with a more careful watch on the steeping time, but so far, it’s coming out too bitter for my taste.

Wanted something light and fruity after a meal of smoked fish. This is perfect! Smelled great, and the taste didn’t disappoint.

Pretty good green tea.

This was better than I thought it would be…nice zing but not over bearing. Nice. I think it was because it was a green tea…and not fully herbal. I’d drink it again!
