Really tasty! The cherry notes do not taste of cough syrup, at least not to me. It tastes like an authentic cherry taste and the mango notes are very nicely balanced with the cherry.
A little bit tart to go with the sweet, and a pleasant creaminess from the vanilla. The tea base is a green and black tea base, and it was a little bit earthy and a little bit vegetative.
I liked this one.
The dry bundles of Jasmine Pearls, our tiny curled-up snow dragons, immediately lambast you with their flowery breath. It’s beyond walking into a perfume store. It’s walking into a sauna full of botany and someone’s locked the door behind you. No escape. Such heavily scented teas may mellow out once steeped, but this one has hardly such amicable in-tea-ntions. Until you’ve let it sit for a while to collect itself, the fragrance continues to invade your senses with everything its got.
And then some magic happens… Full review here: http://snooteablog.com/2013/10/29/snooty-tea-review-palais-des-thes/
This is my second Earl Grey of the day, and it just doesn’t compare to the first (Lupicia’s). The bergamot’s not as strong as I’d like, and the green base just isn’t working for me. It’s quite grassy, and while grass plus bright citrus sounds like a perfectly pleasant combination—and I know it can be; I’ve had some wonderful greens with strong natural citrus notes—I’m not enjoying it here. Plus, there’s something about the aroma of the brewed tea that reminds me of stale cigarette smoke. It doesn’t carry through to the flavor, but still. I’m not picking up on the florals, but then I also can’t see any petals in my sample bag (ETA: There actually were some petals; I just have terrible lighting in my apartment). This was interesting to try, and now I know that green EGs aren’t really my thing. Thanks for the sample, Nicole_Martin!
Tea #21 from Another Traveling Tea Box
I actually found this to be bordering on too flavored for my tastes, which I wasn’t expecting because the common consensus seems to be that it’s not flavored enough?! What is here, though, is a lovely balance of floral and more subtle cherry, but it’s quite potent.
I think I would have preferred something more delicate that allowed more base to bleed through.

Tea #35 from Another Traveling Tea Box
This was another interesting tea and one I just can’t figure out how I feel about. I didn’t actively dislike it, but I did get tired of the tea and kept setting it aside for other things, so I’m not sure that this is something I would order for myself.
I didn’t care for this tea hot, it didn’t really have a lot of flavor, but cooled down nearing room temperature was another story. The cherry blossom flavor began to come out. It was a little salty, a little sweet, and definitely something I would need to be in the mood for before I fixed it again.
Preparation
sipdown, since i’m saving the rest for one of the girls here to punk since i do not appreciate oolongs the way that some of them do. This comes across overall to me as boring. There isn’t enough going on here for me to dislike it, but nothing about it encourages me to love it either lol overall just an average oolong.

Yum! A really nice vanilla tea. Most of my vanilla flavored teas have been black tea bases, but I like the way the natural creamy tones of the green tea work with the sweet, creamy vanilla flavor.
A really pleasant, mellow cuppa. Light buttery tones, sweet vanilla, and the green tea has a hint of lima bean taste to it. It doesn’t sound like it should work, but it does, and does so splendidly. A really nice tea.
I’m not into black tea (especially when named black instead of red) and even less into indian black tea, but I’ve got a little sample of this from the shop.
Checking the price of this tea and knowing the bad quality of the chinese tea from le palais des thes around this price range I expected the worse …
I made it Gong Fu style of course :-) so that if it’s bad, it’s gonna be undrinkable, what is life without risks huh ?
The leafs seemed small, so I used a zhong to filter those correctly (measured risks).
Boiling water, 3+gr, 1’00, 1’00, 2’00, 3’00 … I even tried 5’00, risks baby, risks.
The scent in the zhong is very nice, flower/chocolate. Hey, it’s actually good, who would have thought. The taste is great, it doesn’t linger in the throat or give any complexity but at least no off taste.
It’s not a great tea, but in this price range it’s a very interesting bargain for an everyday red tea. The last brewing, although weak, had still a slight malty taste – 5 brews, more than fair.
Preparation
Super yummy Jasmine tea with no bitterness, just awesome flavor.
I like to cold brew this more than drink it after a hot infusion. I let it hang out in room temperature water for half an hour and then pull the leaves out. Perfection every time.

The fruit flavors brewed up lighter than I remembered. So much so that I could almost write off the gentle jammy peach notes to the base itself, if I didn’t know better. The delicate floral quality is still present. As it cools the fruit becomes more prominent and I can pick out the watermelon again. There’s still no kiwi anywhere in this cup.
Preparation
This weekend was so nice! R&R all the way. Did a tube float down a river, went fishing (read: sat in the boat while other people fished), did some kayaking and swimming. Just so nice to get away!
Thank you momo for this one :)
This was the perfect tea to end my relaxing day yesterday! It has a lightly tropical feel with the watermelon and peach. I can’t really find the kiwi, but I didn’t look that hard either.
I really enjoy that the flavors are light enough that they don’t cover the green tea (which feels a little delicate). It’s smooth and vegetal and the sip is really gentle.
Definitely make this one with cooler water! The base seems like it can get a little sharp if you start inching into 180 and up.
Preparation
Third sipdown of the day, thanks to NofarS for this generous sample!
I’m not a huge fan of milk oolong, although I don’t mind a cup from time to time, and it makes for a nice contrast after something bold like an Assam, & a nice segue to the more roasty oolongs that I love, or another bold black.
This one is pleasant enough. The initial sips were lightly floral & just “ok”, but near the end of the first cup, the flavors built up a little more to the taste of powdered milk & a tongue thickening sensation. The 2nd steep starts out with a stronger floral essence & vegetation, & I’m getting a bit of a perfumy sensation, but I think that’s because I oversteeped this cup.
I wish this one tasted as good and strong as it smells. I absolutely love the smell of both the dry leaves and especially of the brewed tea. The tea smells like a low burning campfire, and I just love holding a cup of it to my chest when I’m cold and inhaling the woody, smokey smell.
For such a lovely smelling tea, the taste is a little too weak and mild for a lapsang. It’s decent – pleasantly smokey and very warming. However, it is a little…thin tasting, especially for a smokey tea. I am very surprised that they are calling this the strongest and smokiest of the Lapsangs because it is actually fairly mild. Steeping for longer just gives the smokey quality more of a chemical taste rather than any real strength.
While I do like it, I am left feeling that I am missing something from it. It comes on well, but it fades too quickly, leaving without any real impact. I was hoping for something a little more robust feeling, which it seems to hint at but never quite delivers.
This is my favorite Earl Grey on earth. No other compares and I can’t drink any other kind any more! I’ve been hooked to it for months in both loose (home) and tea bag (school) form.
TRY IT ICED, it’s awesome! Hands down my favorite tea all around.
(Iced: One hour at room temperature water.)
I haven’t tried it with milk or sweeteners, I love the bergamot flavor.
