A cheap stand-by that I’ve overlooked since I bought the massive box on the cheap at the closest Kroger’s about, say, a year ago. Cheap, frankly pretty ugly packaging – but whaddaya gonna do, when you need a hundred tea bags and you’re on a budget?

Brewed the tea, according to some new instructions I found on the internet about “proper” green tea brewing. Anything to make this review as accurate as possible.

Smells like pretty run of the mill green tea – nice and light. The color is a lovely burnt orange, as, yet again, is to be expected with any decent green tea. I do have to say that I like the nice size of the tea bag.

Drinking it cooled down, it has a pleasant taste… Eh, downright watery. At least it’s not bitter. I would recommend using these if you need to make more iced tea than you can possibly fathom. It’s pretty, um, flavorless, so don’t think that you’ll be getting much more than a really great value on some antioxidant-rich tea-flavored water.

Edit – Drank a bit more of what was left over from last night’s cup – a little less flavorless than what I thought I tasted yesterday, so maybe I was a bit harsher on it than I needed to. It’s best cold and with sugar. However, when I attempted to steep the same bag again, it definitely came out as vague green-tea flavored water. Just don’t expect a tea that’s more than an iced tea or one that you can have multiple steepings of.

Yes, I’ve drunk this before, and no I didn’t like it. weak and tepid. If you add copious amounts of milk and sugar you can get by though.

It is better than most store brands…take that for what it’s worth.

This is a good, fruity-tasting tea. The flavor is pleasant, and powerful enough that I make it with less sugar than I typically use in most teas. Tastes great, and smells even better. I’ll almost certainly buy this again.

This tea is very different from what I am used to. I steeped this for my normal time for herbals and got to enjoy the strong smell of cinnamon coming from the pot. I love cinnamon so I was looking forward to this. The liquid is a lighter color than the herbals I have been brewing up. Almost a nice caramel toffee color.

The taste is very interesting. It starts out with that bite of cinnamon on the tip of your tongue. By the time you swallow, you get that cool peppermint flavor. I’m getting a hint of orange in the cup. I’m not sure about the rosehip or the ginger root because I’m not sure what those flavors taste like.

It is good and I would definitely drink this with a group of friends. Especially if any of my friends are not sure about herbal teas because this would make them see that herbal teas don’t have to be boring.

I love this tea. Been drinking it for a year or more. However, my last two boxes I purchased from Kings, the tops of the individual tea bags weren’t sealed. If this stock wasn’t sitting in a warehouse for a years or so I guess the tea will be fresh enough. JMHO

Cheers,

Unfortunately I threw away the box before I could post the information about this tea. It’s very much like Celestial Seasonings’ Blueberry herbal tea. I don’t even know what acai and pomegranate taste like enough to say if those flavors were prominent. I do know it was pretty good with milk, but for some reason had a candied flavor.

Actually had a cup of this last night. I ended up making a semi-surprise trip to Louisville to attend a visitation. Whilst doing this, I picked up specialty baked goods for my best friend’s parents and made a delivery. Her mom is a huge tea fan as well, though she doesn’t drink the “fancy stuff” (her words, not mine). I was barely in the door before she asked “caffeine or no?” Caffeine, please.

It didn’t get timed and the water was microwaved. And it still turned out rather well, if I may say. I think I would have liked it steeped a bit longer, but it was still a fairly strong cup. It’s a good, basic English Breakfast blend that would definitely do in a tea-pinch.

The cookie and conversation didn’t hurt anything, either.

I like this tea— its a fun hot pink colour. I was hoping for more of a pomegranate flavour than there is, though. To me, it tastes almost exactly like celestial seasoning’s rasp. zinger.

My mom handed me this the other day and I finally got around to brewing it. It’s a fairly strong black tea, though somehow no flavors in it really stand out to me. Essentially, this is very standard, and frankly not bad. I wouldn’t spring for it again, on the other hand. It’s just a little too plain for me.

I’m drinking this with a little bit of honey. I know I drank it before, but I have some vague recollection of wanting it sweeter. Anyway, it’s sweet with a strong fruity taste, though I can’t quite pinpoint exactly what fruit I’m tasting.
Smells very nice (and strong, I made one cup and the whole kitchen smells like it now) and it’s a very pretty dark red.

Minty to the point of mentholatum, so I added a bag of Twinings plain green tea to tone it down a little. It’ll do.

Bought cheaply and unromantically for the sole purpose of dissolving throat gunk after a weekend of flaming tonsils. Brews up a darker brown than other peppermint herbals, but nothing to complain about. It’s mint and taste will probably improve when I don’t have to use break room tap water.

Heyes

infusions were once used as much for the medicinal properties as much as their enlightentainment.

The ultimate in “meh”, Kroger doesn’t even bother to name its tea. Its official title, emblazoned in flowery script on the box, is “Tea Bags”, but that seemed an inappropriate label for Steepster. Fittingly, this nameless tea is also odorless and tasteless. If you steep it to death, stare at it long enough, and concentrate real hard, it’s possible to believe that the beverage in front of you is in fact something other than hot water. I guess I should give it credit for testing my imagination?

Why did I drink this when my tea cabinet is full of other, much more alluring things? I think I had some sort of masochistic drive to see just “how bad” generic tea is. Or maybe I was actually hopeful that this humble-looking tea box might be disguising some exquisite surprise, like in fairytales?

Agh. What a disappointing experience…After that, I think I need a cup of tea.
