YUM! Mouth watering goodness! Clean and crisp! Good GOOD Good!!!! It’s a lovely Ti Kwan Yin but it’s of very good quality and shows in the taste!

It’s that time again. Sample Cleanup. It started with Prince Vladimir, and will continue with St. Petersburg, but I took a break and used up the rest of this sample first. I still REALLY like it. I’ll have to look into putting an order in with GTC. There seems to be a lot of good things said about them, and this is just a really delcious, deserty, sweet coconut tea. Vanilla, coconut, almond, leaves a sweet aftertaste on the tip of my tongue. Mmm.

Removing it from my cupboard and adding it to my shopping list.

I see almond slivers and coconut shavings. Dry it has a creamy, sweet coconuty smell. Brewed is similar, but darker.

The taste is a creamy black tea, with a sweetness of coconut. I don’t think I’m getting anything from the almonds, but I figured those were just there for show anyhow.

Oh, maybe I am getting something from the almonds—a sort of nutty aftertaste.

Brewed this for four minutes, but I think it would have done all right at three as well.

Oh wow, before I even knew it my mug was empty. I clicked back to this window with the intention of finishing my review, but when I reached for my mug there was nothing left TO review.

Goes to show everyone that I enjoyed this. A lot. I will have to go back for a second steep.

Second steep smells good, although is considerably weaker in taste. But still creamy sweet. Mm.

Steep Information:
Amount: ~2 heaping teaspoons
Water: 16 oz filtered, boiling
Tool: Adagio IngenuiTEA 16 oz
Steep Time: 3 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: sweet, almond, coconut
Steeped Tea Smell: sweet, nutty
Flavor: sweet black tea, almond, coconut, almond joy!
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: almond, bitter, astringent
Liquor: opaque dark cloudy brown

I find the labels on the tea samples to be perfect, they include the company name, tea name, tea type, and steeping directions. I have been informed that the samples that you buy on the web site, or any teas purchased on the site, will come in food safe, plastic lined, kraft bags which keep light out and keep the tea fresh for about 4-5 months. Tea is best stored in tins which are not clear and air tight, since light activates the steeping process and moisture as well. The sample bags I received were about 2-3 cups each, where purchased samples are larger.

Delicious candy like tea, but not so perfect as to get 4 leaves, but if you are an almond joy fan I recommend this strongly.

Another tea from TeaEqualsBliss – THANK YOU!

This has such a nice flavor. I can taste the raspberry, and it even seems to “sparkle” on the tongue much the same way that a champagne might. Sweet. The white tea base is distinguishable from the flavors – it is delicate and fresh.

Won this in AmazonV’s Art contest. These are the tightest jasmine tea pearls that I’ve ever used. We always like to watch the tea uncurl but with these it was definitely slow motion. It made a great ice tea. I wanted to drink this warm but just couldn’t with our very hot weather. I took about 3 sips and reached for the ice.

This tea was meant to be an iced tea. Something about its subtle fruitiness really goes well with cooler temperatures. Alas, nothing excites me about it hot per se. I love the combination of fruits that this contains, but I just don’t find myself reaching for it. I think it’s that the taste doesn’t seem particularly unique to me- but please don’t get me wrong- it is so refreshing as an iced tea, and in the summer I’d order this every time I went to a tea shop.

Orange, vanilla and… cactus? Really? So weird! And the smell is kind of weird, too. It’s simultaneously herbal, vegetal, citrusy and a little… crisp. I can’t tell if mixed in with all that is the sour rooibos smell that I detest so much or if it’s something more pleasant that I just don’t know how to properly register.

And now I’m going to say something I never thought I’d say. The sour rooibos taste is there but it works. It somehow blends into the orange, is softened by the vanilla and matches oddly well with the cactus (or at least what I recall cactus tastes like from the one time I’ve had it). It’s crisp, natural, smooth and fresh in a sharp, clean way.

This is definitely a different tea. I never would have thought that the flavors would work based on the description but it does. It’s pretty outside the norm but I could definitely see it growing on me. I’m kind of on the fence about whether I’d order it or not but the more I think about it, the more I think I would get it just to see exactly how much it would grow on me.

Ahhhh my pouch is mislabeled as White tea, and I kept sniffing this bag and going ‘you know, this looks awfully dark for white tea’. Thanks for clearing this up, Steepster :) I have been enjoying my black teas in the morning and this one has made its way to the top. In the bag it smells of delicious angel food cake. The bag also says to give it a long steep time, so I am going to give that a shot.

Okay, this really is delicious brewed hot. This is the next candidate for my steeping in steamed soy milk with a touch of honey. It’s just desserty enough to be good for that. I’d love to see this flavor combined with decaf earl grey to make an amazing after dinner treat. Anyway, it retains its sweet -nilla wafer/angel food taste very well.

This is good. The cranberry flavor is there, tart but not verging on sour, because the lovely peach flavor comes through and cuts through the tartness just enough. I am not getting the cinnamon flavor that the description suggests, perhaps that is an error?

The black tea base is a little more astringent that I’d like it to be, but other than that, this is quite good.

It is very light and the raspberry isn’t at all artificial I can tell ever so slightly that there was a use of champagne only because of the crisp flavor of the raspberry where in fact I don’t actually taste the champagne at all. I am happy to have tried this but not sure if I would purchase this. However, it may be amazing cold. I only say this because I am not the biggest of fan of white teas. However, with that being said this is better than most whites I have had.

I’m taking a short tea break from my marathon house cleaning! This one sounded surprisingly good today and I’m actually enjoying it a bit more than usual. Not enough more to justify a ratings increase, however.

I decided to give this one another try today even though I’m pretty sure that it will still taste like whiskey without any benefits. As before, this tea smells pretty good with a slight alcoholic scent to the edges. Wow, this smells just like hot whiskey after brewing. I’m getting a bit apprehensive now, maybe I should have picked something else. I added a fair amount of milk and sugar to be on the safe side. Okay, it tastes like a whiskey flavored chocolate. I can handle this, but I am pretty sure once I run out of my sample I will not be buying this.

After having the last infusion of my Sugar Caramel Oolong leaves this morning, I decided I needed to have a bit of caffeine. I chose this one because I love mate and the other chocolate mate I’ve had (Malted Chocomate) is one of my all time favorite teas. I’ve also heard a lot of great things about this company. So here goes…

Initially, the scent of the dry tea was a bit strange – mate, chocolate, and a kick of something else that truly reminds me of hard liquor. The dry tea is very pretty though and reminds me of espresso hued confetti. After brewing, the tea was very strange when taken plain – initially tasting of chocolate but dissolving into that strange liquor taste. I added a bit of sugar and milk which made a huge difference. The liquor (I’m thinking whiskey) taste is still present, but slightly muted and is blending with the other flavors pretty nicely.

I’m liking this more as I’m drinking it, but I’m still not sure about it. I feel like I shouldn’t be drinking something so whiskey-like this early in the morning. I’m halfway expecting to feel a buzz coming on…

The dry leaf was incredibly sweet smelling. This proceeded to mellow out when steeped, so that the aroma of the black tea mixed wonderfully with the smell of toffee.
The taste was merely mediocre, I’m afraid. Black tea with barely a hint of the toffee that was so tantilizing in the scent. Pity.

Not too fond of the scent of this one…but…
I haven’t been eating much this week and have been hungry and ended up eating cheesy bread for lunch and figured I would try this afterwards.

I only infused for 2-3 mins.

It’s a sunshine yellow in color. It tastes herbally but not overly so. I’m not sure what makes this semi-pleasant (considering I’m not one that’s usually drawn to Chamomile) but whatever it is THANK YOU!

This is nice and light and soothing.

I cold brewed a couple cups of this tea and am now trying it (now that it has finished).
It is quite tasty, with a subtle sweetness to offset an also-present subtle bitterness. Overall, quite refreshing and tasty when steeped in this manner.

I’m smelling the while CANDY Connection here and I must say I like it! Now…let’s see if I like the taste of the tea!

It’s candied=sugary/sweet and I can taste many of the tropical type fruit in there! YUM. I can also taste the citrus notes and the berry-like or currant flavors. This is pretty good!

A lovely flavored white tea! I would certainly drink again and so happy I WON in the trivia contest! WOOT!!!

I am currently sipping on this tea as a type and honestly this is really different tasting Jasmine Dragon Pearl. First off I noticed that the pearls are darker than most, but no biggie; I’ve seen darker pearls before and they’re still yummy! Second thing I noticed that it produced a nice amber/honey colored tea. Now fast forward to now and this tastes… well, I don’t know really. I can’t really taste the green tea, but I do pick up a faint bitterness. The jasmine tastes like a jasmine perfume versus jasmine flowers :-| Seems, a bit artificial and to be lacking something somewhere. I’m still a bit confused by this tea…
