I had this earlier today…seems like so long ago. Another swap from Terriharplady that was quite delicious! While not my favourite assam, it’s certainly one i wouldn’t turn down! I’m just not in love with it like i am with steven…er i mean #49 :)

Did I mention that I had a crush on a kid named Steven Smith when I was 10 or something like that? ;)

haha awesome

sipdown on this one mostly because i accidentally dropped the other cup’s worth that i could have brewed on the floor. the clean floor that my other half cleaned today. oopsy. lol

On the plus side this isn’t my favourite tea so i won’t mourn the loss, i’ll just suck it up and move on. I’m learning that i’m not overly fond of strawberry greens. I like strawberry blacks. Quelle surprise! i know. But there are good strawberry greens and average. This falls into the average category for me. Not bad…just take it or leave it kinda green and strawberry lol Thanks terri!

Terri HarpLady

I agree. I tried it, because there it was in the bulk aisle of the natural food store, & I drank a cup. I’m not really a fan of flavored green teas, but once in awhile it’s worth a try :)

Hallieod

Without my full morning’s caffeine hit, I was childishly amused at picturing you going to suck the spilled tea up off the floor. :P

Glad it was not a favourite that hit the floor!

This is a tea to drink if you’re in a hurry or focused on something else and just want some organic green tea, because while it’s inoffensive, neither is it lingering/savoring-worthy. If it weren’t organic I’d rate it lower because it really has very little personality but it’s also clean and its production doesn’t contaminate the environment so I enjoy that aspect of it.

Sipdown!

I figured i’d try the last of this one as a cold brew. I’ll save everyone the trouble and just don’t. While as a hot brew this isn’t that bad, though clearly white’s are not my preference, as a cold brew there’s a bitterness there that is completly unappealing. It not longer even sort of tastes like tangerine, it’s just this weird citrus bitter brew. blech. oh well, at least i know now :) Thanks terri!

Iced 8 min or more

LOL! Just drinking this myself (hot, not cold).
You’re welcome?

I’ll have to try this one iced with the remainder of my samples from Terriharplady I don’t typically enjoy white teas as they’re too light for my taste but this one isn’t half bad. The tangerine taste in here is really light but it IS present.

Terri HarpLady

I still haven’t tried that one, or the strawberry green either.

Sil

hey look.. you’re awake! grin it’snot too shabby for a white :)

Smooth, malty, pulls no punches, easy drinking, I like it.

We enjoyed this Assam enough to purchase at least 4 lbs of it. Probably Frontier’s best black tea.

There are better choices for Earl Grey. Neither my wife or I were impressed.

Purchased in the bulk section of my coop. Pretty good for the price. The tea seems to be made with a lower grade bancha, with a good amount of stems and dust. However, a higher grade tea would probably taste about the same, because it is overwhelmed with the rice. Tea has a strong taste of popcorn (microwaved popcorn?).

My go-to Genmaicha. I may drink this tea more than any other tea at the time of this tasting note. This has been my choice of Genmaicha for about two years. I can acquire it easily through a local organic food market, it’s cheap, it’s nutty, it has a good balance of flavors for Genmaicha.

It probably won’t knock your socks off, but for me at least, it is a tea that I keep going back to and can drink all day without growing sick of it.

This, and the frontier Bancha are great bargain green teas. The bancha is pretty grassy, but I like that in my green teas. I pick them up at whole foods in the bulk spice area for a pretty good price.

Hmm, it’s okay. As usual for frontier it’s raw and refined but it definitely has a unique flavor.

Sweet and smooth. I really enjoyed the woody texture, though I’ve definitely had better Kukicha.

Oof! Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sending this one my way!

It smelled so SO good – I brewed it up as per the package instructions – 3 mins in boiling water, and took a sip. Ah! My throat! haha it is a very spicy tea (to me) with a lot of hibiscus! This would be SO perfect to drink instead of neocitron when you’re sick, I think. Certainly cleaned my sinuses haha.

I put the rest in the fridge to try iced, it was too strong to finish the cup sadly. Very spicy and very.. hibiscusy? Anyways, it was SO unique and I certainly had fun trying it! Thanks!

Picked this one up on my recent excursion to Wooster. The long straggly black leaves are enticing and I love a good Irish Breakfast…Tea and actual Irish Breakfast. A malty aroma eminates…and then. Eh I have to say this is a soft cookie Irish breakfast. There should be a lot brightness to it. It’s fairly smooth but have that subtle peppery bite that you would expect from Irish breakfast.

Picked this one up at a natural food store while my wife was getting her hair done for a wedding I was DJing. Enjoying it this morning. Not bad for a dollar an ounce. Slightly smokey. Like gunpowder should be. Not bad

Sipdown! 386/369

It’s gone! YAY! For literally years, I have picked up this blend, wrinkled my nose, and put it back. But enough is enough, so I cold brewed this overnight with about twice the leaf I needed in an effort to empty the bag.

Full disclosure, it’s easily been two years since I got this blend and it’s been stored in a plastic ziploc baggie. So…I’m not holding my breath on this one.

I’m not going to change my rating because, well, it’s old. But despite twice the leaf, it’s weak and tastes like lemon cardboard. I’ll chug it for the sake of hydration, but I am glad to finally get it out of my cupboard.

Dexter

Congrats on getting an OLD one out of the cupboard. I’ve recently started being more “firm” about drinking older teas first. I don’t have anything that’s “years” old, but need to get serious about drinking the older stuff before it becomes OLD. LOL Thanks for the reminder on WHY I need to be doing this. :))

Daddyselephant

Exactly. Now, I do have several tea that are kept in tins that are years old and still very good, but this just isn’t one of them.

So this is…interesting. The lemongrass and mint really work to make it refreshing. It isn’t too tart, but there isn’t anything outstanding about it. It’s just a decent herbal. It was a sample and I have enough for another pot to cold steep, so while it won’t be any hardship finishing it off, it’s not something I feel the need to stock up on.

A bit mild for my liking but still very good. I just use more than the suggested amount per cup.
