This is just okay.
Not very oolong ish and the peach is alright I don’t believe I would order this again but its not horrible either.
Far better of similar teas though out there.

teawade

Noooooo! This sounds amazing. I love tropical fruits, I love peach, I love oolong, and last but not least I love phoenix! How can this combination let you down? What are some better similar teas you would recommend?

Azzrian

Oh heck I don’t know and really this is not terrible or anything. I would be happy to send you some! PM me your addy and I will get it out your way! :)

Azzrian thanks for a pack of this!
I had a cup earlier but need to remember to do a double shot next time – the flavor is juicy but subtle. See previous notes…

drank Pear by Element Tea

Muppetlove sent this to me! Thanks a bunch :)

The black tea base is rich and a little strong than a medium strength black. The pear is certainly there – and tasty! There is a floral or perfumy-ness to it, too!

I’m not sure if those lil pieces of leaves are raspberry leaves and stems or what – perhaps THAT is what is contributing the floral/perfume notes.

I’m not sure if Element Tea is having website problems or making an upgrade…I can only view their 1 Luxury Tea – the search doesn’t come up with anything nor does clicking on each tea base. Strange.

BUT…this is tea nicely flavored and I do like it very much! It just might be my fave pear flavored black so far…or at the very least right up there!!!

DOH! Well…that would make sense. I remember seeing the sale but apparently didn’t put 2+2 together!

I made a cup of this the other day. It seemed a bit weak tasting. BUT this one is better. Higher temp and longer steep time. Much of the tea fell through the infuser, so that is probably helping the flavor too. I don’t know what distinguishes this from an Irish breakfast tea, as it just says ‘assam’. But the flavor is slightly sweet, with the usual stronger black tea flavor, and a bit oaty. Sipping it leaves my mouth a bit dry. It’s pretty good, but nothing really makes it memorable.

Additional notes: Almost a decade old, how in tarnation is this still pleasant tasting? Coconut and banana, still very much present and not spoiled. The black tea still very deep. Very much enjoyed a cup yesterday and the remainders cold this morning.

I like this one! The flavors are great together. I thought the black tea base was sweet tasting and a perfect match for the banana and coconut. I’m guessing there is a bit of an artificial banana flavor, but it isn’t bad at all. And it does seem kind of tropical! The blue cornflowers add a nice touch. Another great tea from the Element tea closing sale purchase I made.

This is in teabags. How could a vanilla rooibos be bad? The vanilla flavor isn’t as strong as I’d like, but that might be because it is organic? The Suffuse vanilla rooibos I have, I just love. But that one might not be as organic. But the more vanilla flavor the better! The rooibos is always a delicious base for anything. A deep red color, too.

drank Strawberry-Kiwi by Element Tea

What I like about this tea… there isn’t a strong hibiscus flavor! But the rest of the flavors aren’t too strong either, and this isn’t really a tea you can resteep (which I usually do with every tea!) The flavors sound like they would be great together (Strawberry, kiwi, apples, rose petals…) but I just wish it was a stronger flavor. I’ll have to put more in the infuser next time, not try to get a second cup out of it and go full flavor for the first cup.

drank Mojito by Element Tea

This is the second favorite from the big batch of teas I bought from the Element closing sale (the first was Creme Earl Grey). It has such a unique flavor! I love the idea of a red and black combined tea. Yum! It has a subtle spearmint flavor and a subtle lime flavor… and some other mysterious flavor.. that must be the rum! It’s all sweet and not bitter at all.

Yes, there is a reason ginger is in the name of this tea. I’m not a fan of ginger. It’s really all I can taste here. The lemon flavor isn’t too strong. I had a lemon tea from Numi a while back, the lemon verbena in that one reminded me of a sugary lemon candied donut I had years ago. So this is a disappointment. There is barely any honeybush in the bag either. It isn’t bad — it should just have a better flavor. I think lavender in the place of ginger would have been better.

drank Pear by Element Tea

I’m pleasantly pleased with this one! Though the base is a black tea, the pear flavor is consistent and delicious! (it’s labeled “china black”? It’s kind of perfumey — not in a bad way.) You’d think the black tea flavor would overpower the pear, but it doesn’t. I didn’t think there would be actual pear pieces in the blend. It’s hard to believe that just a couple pear pieces would make the pear flavor this strong, so it must be helped by the “flavoring” they have added. There are also tiny leaves in the blend, I’m not sure what those are since it isn’t anything on the label. Not too bad!

Additional notes: HOW IS THIS OLD BLEND STILL SO GOOD? I’m amazed every time. It’s the perfect Earl, even years later. I wish I could find the specific wholesaler of this one as Element is long long gone. I’m VERY appreciative that I managed to nab a pouch of this back in the day in their close-out sale, and another kind Steepsterer sent me their pouch. I could cry in appreciation at the lovelies in my cupboard. :D

Additional notes: I just needed a cup of something comforting today. This is one of my oldest teas but whoa, it is still just fantastic. The perfect briskness and the awesome bergamot here just tells me it ISN’T my tastebuds when it comes to bergamot… it’s other crappy bergamots. Even this “aged” bergamot is better than many fresh. This is a bergamot that can brighten my mood. I miss you Element tea!!!!!

Additional notes: This one is so ancient, I thought the flavor couldn’t be good. But I still LOVE it. It’s probably the best Earl I have right now and might also be the oldest. I love how the original tasting note said I thought I would hate it, now it’s STILL probably one of my favorite teas I’ve ever had. I wish I knew if another supplier was still selling this.

Additional notes: ICED! I thought I’d try one of my favorite EGs iced! I thought I’d take a risk with this iced, even though I really didn’t want to waste it. Precious leaves! Elementtea.com seems to be back open after their closing sale they had a while ago but they haven’t updated their page in a while, so I’m not sure their status. When I ordered with their sale, I was never disappointed in any of their teas. I wish they were doing better!

Anyway, two teaspoons in a mason jar for a couple days results in a nice tasting iced tea! I wished more of the cream would make itself known, but the bergamot was tasty. The black tea was tasty as well but it is much better hot. I think I’ll savor this one hot and use up some other teas cold. But it works better than some other teas have been cold brewed!

I was drinking this lovely tea today, one of my absolute favorites. I just needed to write another note because Dhart1214 answered my call in the forums when I wished I had bought more of this before Element closed! It was last second that I ordered anyway. SO Dhart1214 sent me her package of Creme Earl Grey! I REALLY appreciate it! I could drink this every day so it helps to have more!

I bought this with a bunch of other teas from the Element sale thinking it would be the ONE tea I didn’t like of the bunch. But it turns out, it’s my favorite from the bunch and I’ve tried most of them! (The other stand out was ‘Mojito’.) I’ve had bad experiences with yuck Earl Greys in the past, but that may be they were not very good teas to start with (I don’t remember what they were but they were tea bags in a popular find-them-at-the-grocery-store brand.) But I think the creme makes all the difference! I love the cremey smooth flavor and I probably wouldn’t like it as much without it — the bergamot/citrusy flavor just doesn’t appeal to me but the creme makes it so so good. I think the citrusy aspect isn’t that strong anyway. I received some of Teavana’s Earl Grey Creme in a package that iheartteas sent me, so it will be nice to have a Battle of the Creme Earl Greys! Up until now, I just assumed that Earl Grey was one of the rare teas I didn’t like, but Earl Grey Creme suddenly became a favorite! Yikes.

I can’t be the first reviewing this… hmm. Anyway, this doesn’t have much of an oolong flavor. And the peach flavor seems very artifical to me, actually reminds me of a slight bit of kerosene. Obviously not very good. At least it wasn’t the more expensive oolong I bought from Element’s sale. (The other oolong was $5 and this was $1.) Maybe I steeped it too long, I don’t know. I won’t give up on it yet!

drank Indian Chai by Element Tea

It’s weird drinking a tea for the first and last time. I got this in my Element Tea order, just a cup’s worth in a little paper sachet. So I am trying to enjoy this but not love it: I mean I don’t want to make myself hate it, but I don’t want to love it so much I’m sad it is gone.

Well… sadly, I really like it! It’s a strong chai, my sample was a bit small so I brewed it two extra minutes and damn is it spicy! Lots of ginger and cardamom. In fact, there are more spices than actual tea (at least in the spoonful I have) which is a good sign… for me. It seems like a lot of people enjoy milder chais, but I like mine to be a kick in the face of spiced goodness which this definitely is. Alas, I shall never have it again! There are a LOT of chais out there though, so it’s not like this is some ridiculously unique blend, just a particularly tasty version of a classic.

I’m the exact opposite. I don’t like chai to be too spicy because I usually just drink it straight. I can see wanting more spice though if you’re putting in milk and sugar..

Alphakitty

I drink them straight about 50% of the time, even (especially, actually) spicy ones. I just like heavily spiced thing—I always have to tone it down when I do holiday baking!

Mercuryhime

Yes! Kick in the Face Chai! That’s an awesome name for a chai blend. I like mine string too. :)

drank Blackberry Tart by Element Tea
470 tasting notes

I am so behind on my tasting notes! This was a cold brew from 2 days ago that I totally forgot to log, I’m working my way through my Element teas and I think this is the last of them (though I didn’t log one!). I love blackberry but was worried since this smells SO artificial in the bag, like someone crunched up blackberry hard candies and threw them in. Pink Sonoma smelled a bit artificial too and I ended up loving it, so I wasn’t too worried, just a bit nervous. And hot this is, ah… shall we say “not good.” I was determined to make it better and less candy-like, and since I’m kind of addicted to cold brewing stuff I thought I’d try it out with this blend.

Now warm, this tea is a hot mess. The black base is totally lost, and it’s very artificial tasting. Iced, it’s the exact opposite—the tea itself pops, and that overly-sweet blackberry taste vanishes. In fact, this doesn’t really taste like a berry tea. There’s a tiny hint of it, but the blackberry leaves are far more prominent, adding just a touch of berry goodness and a lovely herbaceous quality. It reminds me of berry picking in high summer, when the air smells sweet and fresh and grassy and your fingers get stained purple. It’s not the best tea out there, but it brings back a lot of memories and I don’t think I’ll have any trouble finishing it off.

This tea invokes memories of Constant Comment by Bigelow.
Its good, nothing complex.
Added a touch of German Rock Sugar to help flavors come out.
Element Tea is no longer in existence but if it were I may or may not order this again.
Nothing bad about it and it is nice to have a tea that reminds me of falling in love with tea – the early days lol.
But I would have to do a side by side comparison to see if I would order this or just pick up some Constant Comment instead.
Then again if I had the time to fall in love with more of the Element teas maybe I would pick this up along with other favorites from them.
No way for me to determine this now however.
A nice tea.
