This is a very good Keemun. It has a nice depth of flavor that ranges from a warm, yeasty baked bread kind of flavor, to a hint of earthiness and leather, and then there is this smoked, aged wood sort of flavor that you’d expect from an aged liquor. I don’t really have much experience with liquor, so, I don’t know what that would taste like, exactly, but this is what I would think it would have … like something that has been cured and smoked and aged with care.
A good, stout Keemun. Not as smoky as some I’ve tried, but then again, a bit smokier than some others… I would think that this would make a fine Keemun for those who are less familiar with some of the nuances of Keemun, to get them acquainted with the various profiles that Keemun has to offer.
YUM! This is so good. It is warm and inviting. I haven’t had a real Sugar Plum before (as described on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_plum) but this does remind me quite a bit of a sugar plum candy I discovered a few years ago that was a bit like a plum flavored jelly candy that had been dredged in sugar. It was really yummy, and I think I must have stopped in to that little old time candy shop at least three times that year to buy more of them.
Anyway… The cinnamon here makes this tea just a little different from that confection, the cinnamon is warm and sweet, and reminds me a bit of the flavor of cinnamon-sugar that you’d sprinkle on toast… warm, but not too spicy, and pleasantly sweet.
This is really good. Certainly getting me in the holiday spirit!
Drinking the last that I have of this tonight. It has such a lovely flavor, and really does remind me of warm peppermint schnapps. It’s been a long while since I’ve actually had peppermint schnapps, but, this is what I remember it tasting like … only it’s warm and that adds to the yummy factor as well as the comforting factor. Very soothing, and I won’t pass out after I’ve finished my cup!
Wow! This tea is astonishingly good. Much better than I anticipated it being.
The peppermint here is really crisp and strong, as though the brandy notes are pushing the peppermint into the limelight. But it doesn’t taste like the typical peppermint tea … thanks to the presence of the brandy. The brandy is interesting in this blend. It makes its presence known throughout the sip, but it never really dominates. An interesting play between flavors with this cup. Interesting and very good.
Its raining out and beginning to look like snow. My cats are going crazy staring out the window. Anyhow, this was my beverage of choice. I didn’t want to try anything new, and this tea fit my comfort zone. I brewed this western style, and since this is bagged, it was super simple.
I bought the 10 bags from Culinary Teas several years ago, and I just opened up a 55 bag one! It smells so good! SO amazing. My mouth actually watered. This is exactly what I used to drink at my husband’s home. I had it with a little brown sugar and some milk. Delicious. I was happy today!
It’s always fun to get tea in the mail when you forgot it was coming to you… such is the case with my envelope of teas from TeaEqualsBliss that came last night! Thanks so much for the jam-packed envelope. This was one of the samples that was included and I decided to jump right in and try it this morning.
The dry leaf on this one smells like cherries, but like actual cherry fruit, not cherry flavoring. Whew! I’m really not a fan of cherry flavoring (like in cherry candy), but I do like the fresh fruit. It reminds me of a french “four red fruits” tea, probably because cherry is often one of the red fruits in those blends. After steeping it has a tart cherry aroma backed up by a brightish black tea base. I don’t get much almond except perhaps as a slightly nutty light note to the aroma.
The flavor is very subdued and pleasant. This isn’t an in-your-face flavored tea. A bit tart cherry, a smooth black tea base, and there’s the nutty almond flavor, blooming in the aftertaste. I would like it if there was a bit more almond flavor to this, since I am an almond freak, but I do really like that the cherry tastes nice and natural.
