This is my first rooibos, and I must say I’m addicted. The rooibos is earthy and mellow, while the vanilla adds richness and a hint of sweet. It’s just the perfect tea.

Too fruity, not very potent. Ew.

Meh. I was so hoping for more flavor with this tea and it came out lame even with sugar. When did I become such a loose tea snob? This tisane is completely unremarkable. The ginger does little for me.

Dear Celestial Seasonings —

Please start making tisanes that taste like something besides watered down flavors.

I’m liking this a lot more than I expected to. It’s minty, sweet, and greenish. I’m not a huge fan of the smell, but the taste is pretty good. I don’t expect I’ll drink a lot of it, but it seems like a nice evening or hectic afternoon tea.

Hey if a unicorn and merlin like this tea, why wouldn’t I?
Sure its faulty reasoning but it was true. Lovely and light
this one (like Tension Tamer) punctuated a different era in my life.
Actually, I could go for some at the moment. Tea, anyone?

Ahh, the scent of Zen!

At the Zendo where I sit on Tuesdays, this tea is always served after the zazen session, in small cups, while we sit in a circle for the informal part. To make it REALLY good, they steep it for well over an hour while we do our zazen, and THEN serve it to us. Unfortunately for me, I’m very sensitive to tannic acid, and it drives me bonkers. However, I also do really enjoy the flavour of it, so I can tolerate it quite well.

When Venerable Eshu (our abbot!) was explaining the steeping process, he mentioned that “And if you steep it for 12 hours, it makes your tongue go numb!” He seemed to think of this as a positive trait, but I"m not sure I’ve been meditating long enough to appreciate that.

Sleepytime has been a staple in my tea cupboard for a long time.. years, in fact. It’s got that familiar simple, soothing and minty taste. I love having this before bed when I can’t seem to settle down. I wouldn’t say that it’s anything spectacular, but it does have good memories tied to it and is something that I’ll always keep around.

Another old school one for me. (and yes it was the box art that conned me into this one).
But it is a good tea, and as I recall quite lemoney to me.
And despite this being something that tastes of highschool nostalgia to me, I am
actually pining for a cup at the moment….b/c if I thought that time frame of my life
was tension-filled. Well, lets just say it needs mega taming now.

But I admit its not just straight peach. Its almost peach perfume with a sweet undercurrent that I couldn’t quite place (but the notes list chamomile and blackerry leaf). But this doesn’t take away from the sweet flavors. Only that perhaps this is slightly like an artistic representation of a peach, not one smooshed into a teabag.

Oh god what?

I won’t be buying this again. It reeks. The kitchen and living room now smell like cheap and nasty pot-pourri, and the taste doesn’t much make up for it. Too much cinnamon, too little apple; it tastes strangely flat and then I just get a burn from the spice.

Maybe if I dump some chamomile in there I can make it drinkable? ::vanishes off to put the mental in experimental::

Sweet, nice desert tea or tea for children. I still prefer Rooibos by itself w/Honey.

Not bad considering I got it from a dinning hall. It wasn’t particularly exciting but it is a nice basic black tea. I enjoyed.

brought some to class tonight. for some reason, it was more bitter than i expected. i tried adding sugar, but the white sugar classes with the orange flavor. i might try rock sugar or honey next time.

made another soy latte today. i got frustrated that there wasn’t enough flavor and so my vigorous stirring tore apart the tea bag. since i would have to filter it anyway, i heated up the resulting cup to get extra flavor.

so in the end, it tasted pretty good, but i would hate to have to sift my latte every time just to get enough flavor. =/

I like =] spicy enough to keep me interested, soothing enough to keep me calm.

also found out that it pairs well with chocolate =]

Just bought I box of this. I tastes pretty much like the Bigelow Orange and Spice, at least I couldn’t notice much based on my memory. If anything, I think there’s something a little stronger here, either more orange oil or one of the spices is stronger. Anyway, I like both of the teas, but not orange black teas. Iono why, but I’m glad I bought this! (and at $2, why not?)

One of my favorite cheap bag teas. I am a vanilla hog, and they lay the vanilla on thick. A good afternoon tea, summer or winter. I also think it makes a decent iced tea. There are better vanilla teas on the market, but for the price and the ease, it is a good thing to have in the pantry.

For a cheap, bag tea this is some pretty decent stuff. The only issue I have with it is that… well, it isn’t really tea! There is a nice honey taste. A nice vanilla taste. But where or where is the tea taste? I can make hot honey and vanilla on my own. The Camomile is in there, but still… no tea!
I would love to see this, exactly as it is, but with an Irish Breakfast Tea hiding underneath. Blending it myself was tasty.
It is an ok herb drink, and a tasty snack drink. I would buy it again.

Yup, having this again. I’m starting to see a pattern developing. Peach Passion followed by Sleepytime Extra. Not a bad pattern, but I wish it was with a yummy loose leaf.

Drinking this again because yeah, I can’t sleep. I was exhausted by 9:30 this evening and I went to bed early which of course meant that I woke up in the middle of the night completely awake. Wow, my sleep schedule is really messed up so maybe I’ll just force myself to stay awake until tonight so I can get it back on track. I think I could do that since it is already 4 am.

Oh and as an aside, I’ve been inspired by the Steepster Book Club and am watching the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy on Netflix right now (the BBC television series, not the movie although I want to see that one too). It really is great if you haven’t seen it, the book is really good too!

This is much better than the Tension Tamer. I like to have this tea around just for the days when I can’t sleep, like tonight. It usually helps but I may need another mug tonight for it to take effect.
