This is a good tea year-round, but it seems to only be sold in the Fall where I have bought it. It’s great for anyone who isn’t a fan of pumpkin spice or chai. It would probably be good with a touch of cocoa in it.

Let’s continue with postcrossing THANK YOU envelope, tea 5/6 After 26 days.

I am not a fan of Chamomile as you all know already. Especially when it’s only ingredient.

This tea isn’t an exception. Just seeing the chamomile dust in the bag made me gag. Aroma, yuck, chamomile.

Taste is dusty. I had so many better chamomile teas! Dusty, with hints of herbals, mostly naturally chamomile. It isn’t sweet, rather like easting raw pollen, it tickles a bit in throat. Well, well…

Cozy? What’s cozy on chamomile (of course I know the relaxing effect)?

Tomorrow I am leaving for weekend getaway (thanks ashmanra for this word). So I won’t post on Steepster, though I will try have at least tea for breakfast. I hope I will return to same Steepster as I am leaving it. Although it was okay most of the day, I got few 504 ERRORs now. But okay I guess.

Preparation
10 OZ / 300 ML
White Antlers

Enjoy your getaway, Martin. Having a break from the routine is way more relaxing than any amount of chamomile. : ) For the record, the stuff that you find in chamomile tea bags IS dust. Good, dried chamomile is lovely; it almost smells and tastes like apples-but I am not trying to change your mind.

Mastress Alita

I don’t like chamomile at all, even the full flowers. I typically love florals, but something about the taste of chamomile is off-putting and… kinda soapy to me? (I know most people describe lavender that way, and I love that stuff! But I do understand it). There are some blends that use it, where if the taste is minor enough under the other ingredients, I am okay with it, though.

ashmanra

I hope you have a fun getaway!

Leafhopper

Enjoy your weekend! I don’t mind chamomile, though it tends to be overused. I’d much rather see it in tea than licorice or hibiscus!

mrmopar

Enjoy that getaway Martin!

Mastress Alita

@Leafhopper: And I’m that one weirdo that actually likes licorice and hibiscus, heh.

I hope you enjoy your getaway! :D

comes out of hiding once more

So, guess what. I just started drinking tea again. COVID has hit me hard, guys. I’m not saying I have or had it personally. I don’t know one way or another on that. I had a possible exposure this past Monday and have been self quarantining ever since, and have taken the chance to dig back into my tea stash!

Anyway, this one here I wish I could give you better info on. All I know is that my darling mother has been leaving me jugs of this at my door (which I then come down and retrieve once she leaves) that she brewed in one of those old 90’s (?) Ice Tea Maker machines. You know, the ones that brew Ice Tea sort of like Coffee? Anyway, I believe her bag allotment is 8 bags per batch, but I don’t know any measurements past that. I do know it’s technically brewed hot, but you brew it into a jug of ice which then cools it down.

Anyway, enough about the method, on to the tea!

This tea is… well it’s not the best. It’s not even what I would call good. But it is passable. Once upon a time I would have relished this tea, but my tastes have grown more complex since then. First of all, I have to add 2 splenda packets per glass to make it drinkable (for me). Once that’s accomplished, it is refreshing, but only bears a passing resemblance to tea. I can almost taste a ting bit of green there, and the lemon… well, I know the lemon is there but it’s more like an essence of lemon than any actual lemon flavor. Like there’s the tiniest bit of tart on your tongue, but it’s only a whisp, and you can’t quite pin it down as actual lemon. I personally like a bold Citrus Green, but this ain’t it.

All that said, I’ve had worse Bigelows. The Pomegranate Green that my father chugs is far worse than this, but I adore their EG. It seems that you have to judge each of these teas individually. None of them are remarkable, I’d have to say. But each has it’s merits. The Pom Green’s biggest merit is it’s liquid. This one is that it’s actually refreshing.

I’ll keep drinking it as long as I can. Someday, I’ll get the patience and resources to cold brew my own tea. But for now, this works.

Welcome back. It’s completely okay to take breaks from tea. It is not mandatory to drink tea. Sad it isn’t that great tea as it could be, but it is nice that someone else is thinking of you :)

Has a dry punch i suspect due to the rose hips but you can taste the hydrating aloe subtley. Tastes like a blueberry muffin to a common tongue. I definitely pick up the fruity undertones. Drinking this is refreshing, and I feel hydrated, and feel the antioxidants at work.

Discovered this from a chiropractor who I did production work for. I produced an informercial that air on my radio station. I find this to be soothing for my heartburn issues. If I need a little extra I put in a drop of ginger essential oil. I think it’s good for the price. I’ll probably put a box in my DJ boxes when weddings can get underway again. Hope everyone is doing well.

Interesting! I haven’t seen this one locally.

This is a pretty good decaf iteration of a classic tea.

It’s not perfect, but for the genre there’s a good deal of citrus oil in the mix. The largest drawback tends to be in the black tea, again because of the decaffeinated leaves. For a decaf however it does hit its mark as a solid brew. Good thing, because my girlfriend purchased six boxes of it for the pantry.

Nighttime tea drinkers rejoice!

Honestly, got this tea for free and really enjoyed it.

When I smelled this, there was an instant teleportation back to some distant memory of mine from the past. This is a melding of orange zest, chai-like spice, and the hibiscus background to add some light floral bitterness. It’s my theory that Bigelow uses this to simulate more body in their herbal infusions which is fine so long as it is not overdone.

The orange has a little orange oil feel to it but more of an essential oil than a synthetic flavor, which is nice.

Overall I enjoyed this tea especially as it is a caffeine-free blend that still packs a punch with lots of flavor to savor. Much better than a mint or chamomile herbals to me, and I would enjoy it after late dinner or before bed. A caffeine-free fix!

Steeped 4min at slightly lower than boiling.

Started feeling tired, so I enjoyed this brew just before bed.

Very mild concoction with mostly spearmint, and some chamomile undertones.
As it cools I am picked up a touch more hibiscus in the background. For this I am interested in steeping it longer to see if more flavors develop.
The tea certainly grew on me as I continued to drink it and it cooled. I would steep it longer when I try again but overall it is a light, pleasant herbal tea which brings back memories of my youth.
