What a wonderful Matcha. So bright and vibrant! The color is such a bright, vivid green! And it froths up well and stays frothed up long after I’m finished whisking.
This is a ceremonial grade Matcha so it is thick, rich and creamy. Very smooth – VERY smooth – no grit at all, not even when I reach the bottom of the chawan. it is buttery and vegetal and sweet. Very energizing too.
Part of an ancient sample I found in my tea stash, I decided to finish it off this morning and mixed it with a bit of plain assam. I believe this is the older formulation of tea, without the cloves. Even mixed with the assam it still has very assertive and sweet cinnamon notes. This was better with a bit of stevia which brought out some of the cinnamon sweetness. Enjoyable enough but don’t think it will end up as part of my permanent collection.
I decided I had to have a cup of this after lunch for something dessert-y.
Steeped at 212 F for 4 minutes in an infuser mug. It is pretty potent when you steep it that long, I might try for a little less next time around. The cinnamon is pretty strong in this blend but it is definitely a bit on the sweeter side. I didn’t love it plain but it was perfect with a bit of soymilk for a kind of dessert tea. If I really wanted a cinnamon tea on hand at all times I would probably pick some more of this up (it’s a sample size), but I might be more of a chai person. I do wonder what he Indian tea is they’re blending this with here, I don’t think it’s a ceylon. I’m thinking perhaps it’s the Singampatti Oothu Estate?
An enjoyable afternoon cuppa… for cinnamon lovers only. :)
This is one of my favorites. I love the fruity flavor with the oolong, but the color is what really makes me love it. I always use a glass pot because I love to see the colors of my teas, and this one is stunning. I don’t get as tart of a flavor as other reviewers have, maybe because I am using a lower water temp or less tea per pot.
It’s amazing! Great taste, fresh spices, the balance between the spices are excellent. Used 2 tsp, steeped in half water, added the other half of boiled whole milk {served lifting the milk way up while serving it in an attempt to froth the milk as a latte} & added honey. Such a treat, made my day. I sometimes worry about the strength of the clove & peppercorns but they blend perfectly.
Preparation
This is really very good. Not a strong vegetative flavor. The sweetness has a honey-esque quality to it. Very mild and pleasant, not at all sharp or bitter. Just a very smooth, even-tempered green tea … very much like a Ceylon … only a green Ceylon!
I like it a lot!
This is a tough lil Tuo Cha!!!
Still unNESTING!
4th infusion…
I could do TONS more infusions but I received more tea today AND I have been juicing so…I have to get a movin’ here! LOL
Color I finally got to a light orange-brown.
Aroma – woodsy
Flavor – woodsy AND floral with a hint of citrus and/or apple!
Rating for this infusion about 80. My favorite was the 3rd. This is a neat pu-erh! Upping the overall rating because of that
Infusion 2
Liquid Color is a bit more yellow this time around
The aroma is more outdoorsy than before
The flavor isn’t as wheat-like and more floral…it also tastes like a cross between a gentle green tea and a white tea or a blend.
Rating for this infusion 80-ish
Multiple infusion test with this one
1st infusion…
Light and mellow in every way!
Doesn’t smell like much but what I can smell is a hint of bouquet or meadowy field.
Taste is sweet-wheat-like
liquid color is pale – near water color.
Rating on first infusion between 75-80
I’m assuming this is going to morph quite a bit…stay tuned…
I can’t believe I am the first one to log this tea! :)
This is delightful! It’s light but flavorful…in a juicy sort of way! It sort of reminds me of buttered zucchini – I suppose – more zuke than butter tho! Or maybe summer squash??? Not sure…
It’s very airy and crisp too! I like it!
This is a really fantastic Nilgiri. Bright and flavorful. A lovely floral note that arrives about mid-sip. Moderately astringent. I’d classify it as something between an Assam and a Ceylon – with the brisk tones of the Ceylon and the deep, rich flavor of freshly baked bread of an Assam. A very pleasant cup, indeed!
I notice as the tea cools a bit the flavors smooth out very nicely, this would be awesome iced!
I liked it a lot. I am thinking about picking up more of it when summer arrives, because as lovely as it was hot, I prefer it iced.
Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sharing some of her stash with me! This tea is really malty and very smooth. It is a “basic” black flavor overall, but comforting and interesting in that usually super malty teas like this have a bit of astringency – but not this one! I would definitely order some of this! It seems to have quite a caffeine kick to it also!
Preparation
Some people associate “vanilla” with “boring” yet this tea is far from boring! As stated in my brief tasting notes yesterday there was a little something that I couldn’t quite put my finger – or should I say tongue on – for aroma and even taste. Well, The aroma is very dessert like – very sweet and more of a naturally sugary…very true tasting and very much vanilla bean flavor instead of just your average vanilla faux-flavor. It’s smooth, too!
The aroma is really something! It’s vanilla bean – sure – but there is a little something there…maybe…something close to fruit but I could tell you what kind of fruit and it is very subtle.
Regardless this is memorable and different and I find it to be very good!
I had this one many hours ago! I am going to try it again tomorrow with longer tasting notes…first impressions, tho, I like it! It’s a sweeter vanilla (bean) taste and doesn’t leave a funky aftertaste which is nice! It wasn’t overly strong and it was different from most Vanilla’s I have had so far…a neat difference!

For a teaser…taste: a nice medium-sweet black tea with lovely fruity and sweet woodsy notes
It’s been a hectic day so I decided to sit down and finish the rest of this sample I got from Arbor teas. This is a lovely oolong that reminds me of roasted plums with a sweet finish. Quite mineral-y too. I’m a happy camper with my wuyi oolongs, this cuppa is dreamy and I’ve gotten at least 3 good steeps out of this tea even when steeping it Western style.
