Andrews & Dunham Damn Fine Tea

At first I too felt that it was just enough. I was not pleased with the purchase and I resigned the tea to the deep dark crevice of the back of my cupboard. Some time past and I thought it would be advantageous for me to give this tea another chance. I brought this tea with me to Haiti…why? Not sure, but I am glad that I did. Have you ever met someone and not hit it off? To only meet up once again and thoroughly enjoy their company…well, this tea is a true friend. It is patient and waits for the right time for enjoyment. Give it another chance when time permits and the sun is shining through the cold window pane…take a sip, then another, you will become friends I am sure.

Haha, I’m with you Pete. I stuffed this towards the back of my cupboard, errr, cardboard box.

PeteG – me ‘n this tea are just two ships that passed in the night – I only had 2 teaspoons to try :) But Jackee Muntz and Thomas Sampson are trying to get to my house through the snow and I hope they will become good friends of mine! I have terrible imaginings that they are going to be boxing in my tea cabinet and cause a ruckus! Maybe I should put them next to the rooibos! I am also worried about how Florence and Marco Polo are going to react when these two hunks of men arrive in the cabinet! They are very refined creatures and I hope they don’t get all snobby and make them feel unwelcome!

I think they have to be on opposite sides of the cabinet. Far away from each other. Jackee and Thomas will rip Florence and Marco Polo into shreds,

Ricky – that’s a great idea!!!! I will put lots of no nonsense Upton solid citizen teas between them to keep the peace. I may have to build a little tea villa for Marco Polo and Florence!

With a garden. I’m sure Florence would like a garden. Flowers perhaps.

What day did yours ship? Mine is still not here yet. It shipped on Wednesday. So I thought it would be here on Sat (my last A&D order was here in 3 days) or today. But it was not and I was a little sad because I was looking forward to it being in the mail. Perhaps it will be here tomorrow. I’m glad to hear it good though.

Sorry! The comment was meant for Shantea, but it’s also cool to know what everyone ordered :). Ohhh… mine was shipped Friday. So I should get it today or tomorrow. That’s exciting =]

Sad story: My husband was really loving this tea, and he put it down for a moment and the remote control to our projector (we have a projector and a playstation to watch movies – no television – I hate television! But I digress) slipped and fell INTO HIS TEA!!!!! Now, not only is the remote not working and his cup of tea ruined, BUT I HAD TO SHARE!! Since I had such a clutchy reaction to this tea, I think I have to look into getting some more DFT :) I know series one is long gone, but series two looks pretty fantastic too…

Happy story: I just ordered series two :) My tea budget for the month is history (I also found and bought Marco Polo from Mariage Freres yesterday and ordered the GM sampler earlier in the week) and it’s only Feb 6th! What a spendthrift!

I think this site has made controlling the tea budget a very real problem for most of us. Sorry to hear about your remote! Any luck getting it to work now that it’s had time to dry out?

No luck yet. We tried it this morning. It’s resting on a napkin and we’ll try it again tonight. And yeah – it’s rough! I wear my clothes for years, shoes til they have holes, I don’t go to expensive dinners or out on the town, but put a tin of tea in front of me and I lose all self control! Same with books and art supplies :)

Yeah Andrews & Dunham’s whole limited quantity thing and amazing tea labels really makes you want to grab a set before it’s all gone. I’m tempted to get series 2 even though I don’t even like black tea much. I guess I’ll see how the Yunann is when it arrives =P I’ve been monitoring series 2 for a while and it’s still at a steady 30-40 sets =P

I plan to order when it gets around 20-25.

I’m gong to take a risk and decide if I want it when it drops under 20 =P I’m not so sure about series 3 though.

There’s still lots of Series 3 left though. So there is plenty of time to think about it.
