141 Tasting Notes
I am really trying to get into mate these days to combat my tiredness. So I went to David’s Tea this weekend and decided to get 25 grams to try this tea out. I really don’t know how to feel about this tea, it’s description is that it is very chocolatey and makes great lattes. So I decided to make a latte this morning. Verdict? Meh.. like it wasn’t really terrible in any respect, I guess I just expected a stronger flavour…. I found it way weaker than I thought it would be. I am going to try steeping a larger amount next time I try it, because I like the taste, it just needs to be a little stronger.
Its rather a good tea for being out. I really love this tea because I can just leave the bag in and the taste doesn’t get overpowering. I love adding milk into it once in a while, but drinking it black is equally nice. It is really a comforting tea to drink… definitely a keeper on those cold days.
So I am recently really into jasmine tea. A few weeks ago I walked into David’s to try the straight leaf promotion ( straight leaf teas for 1$), and thought there couldn’t be any loss to try jasmine black pearls. I thought that jamsmine + black would = a strong and bitter tea, but I was wrong. This tea is so tasteful and not overpowering whatsoever. It has the soothing and warming taste of black tea and that spark of Jasmine that I just love so much. So for me this tea is really meant to exist.
Zen… I guess one of the Tazo teas that will get a higher rating. This was an ok green tea with lemongrass in it. It was somewhat soothing, but nowhere near the soothing that I usually like. I might try it again if I go to starbucks… but I am not entirely sure. Maybe it deserves a second chance.
Meh.. that’s what I think of when this tea is mentioned. It really doesn’t do it for me. I love earl grey, it is one of my favorite teas, but the tazo one is just not the best earl grey I’ve had. I find with this the bag can only steep for a few seconds and needs to be pulled out before it becomes too bitter.
It wasn’t the worst tea that I drank, but it will be one of those teas that I try only once and say, it was nice drinking you, but you just aren’t my cup of tea. I like how it initially tasted, but I found that the spices in the tea had a way of lingering just a little to long in my mouth after drinking the tea was done.
For someone who isn’t a coffee drinker (like myself), this is the perfect solution. Simply the zest is my new morning go-to tea for energy. I recently just got 50 grams of this tea to try out, and I already know that I want a tin of this delicious and very much useful tea. Aside from the amazing fact that it wakes me up, the taste of simply the zest is subtle and soothing. Its like you don’t expect this tea to pack a punch of energy. I really love the lemongrass. I am looking forward to trying out other mate teas in the future. I love brewing this by the pot when I am studying.
This is a wonderful blend of green and red rooibos with papaya, mango, peach, and apple ( like the are actual pieces in the tea itself). It tastes so amazing iced, it’s like drinking a nice drink on the beach. I am sure while served warm that it offers a different taste altogether. I personally don’t add anything to it, this tea tastes amazing on it’s own, but everyone always likes something different. I have really and truly enjoyed taking this tea with me to classes, it gives me a boost of taste without the calories.I have had this delightful blend warm. This totally happened by chance. A few nights ago I was brewing some green and fruity for my next day and decided to just try a sip of it warm. Turns out I love this drink hot or cold. This is good because I can continue to love this amazing drink during the fall. Happy Drinking everyone!
So this is my new, (well relatively new) favorite or rather my summer favorite tea-wise. I just absolutely love everything about blueberries, pie, pancakes, bagels, muffins…. I could just go on forever when it comes to that one word. What I never expected was to find a love of blueberries in tea. Weird eh? ( something Canadians always say ) So this just happened to be the tea of the day when I went into David’s Tea earlier this summer. I was just shopping in the mall and decided to fill up on the tea of the day. While me and my fiancée were strolling the mall and sipping on this drink, we fell in love… with the tea instantly. We basically downed this so fast and went back to David’s Tea to fill up on more. While we were there, it only seemed logical to buy some in a tin to take home, so we did just that.
I walked into David’s Tea and just decided to go with it, mostly to compare it to the beloved Earl of Lemon. The tastes are both similar with lemon, but they both take on different aspects of lemon flavour. While Earl of Lemon is more sweet and tasting like a pie, La La Lemon gives me a soothing and more rustic taste. It’s really nice to drink on a cold day such as today.
