Second tea in my sampler. Smells deliciously roasty again, with a very slight sesame smell as I drink it. There’s a strong roasted flavor up front followed by a clear, sweet green taste (which I wasn’t expecting!) that must be the taste of the bancha coming through. With the aftertaste there’s a slight nuttiness that makes for a very pleasant cup. I’d never had, or admittedly even heard of, houjicha before, but I love this!
