807 Tasting Notes
For anyone who thinks a tea named Cookie would be sweet, even cloyingly sweet – think again! This is for all of you tea lovers who do not really go for the sweet teas but would love to try a cookie tea anyway! This is a wonderful black tea with no astringency or bitterness that has a butter cookie flavor yet is NOT sweet – that is unless you add your own sugar!
Really good and unusual!
Preparation
Sweet, clear, crisp, bright, yams, hay, maple, butterscotch, chocolate, malt = Bliss.
YUMMMMIE
Preparation
Just needed something light and palate cleansing today. The whole family is just still fighting this niggling bug whatever it is. Were all lazy, super sleepy, and congested. I so want to try some of my new teas that have arrived but don’t want to waste sampling new teas on a palate that is only so so right now. This tea fits the bill. Its not one of my all time favorites but has a touch of mint that helps with the sinuses. The cucumber can still be tasted through my head cold – or whatever it is. Refreshing. Nice tea. Not changing rating but showing some love.
Thanks Missy! :) We are feeling a little better but then again its evening time – mornings are always the worst. We are night owls too.
Best of luck. As in the real world, that just seems to be making it’s way around these boards. Enjoy the evening relief =]
Got a sample of this and it is so wonderful. I want to get more! The sample was in a tea pyramid but did not seem to be an issue with amazing flavor. Fruity and floral with a wine like taste. Looking forward to having this again!
Preparation
Just wanted to add – third steep is not bad! Weaker of course but its still flavorful and its out of a BAG! Not bad at all!
Lynne-tea why not have it shipped to someone in the states that you know and have them send it to you?
I wish I knew someone in the states! I guess I could ask around to some friends and see if they know people =) Good idea!
Well I would be happy to help if you ever decide to go for it. That goes for any order that does not ship to you. I have no qualms about shipping to people in Canada – just ask Indigo and Krystalyn. :) Well those were trades but still I don’t mind helping out.
Amazing! I am very excited about this. It sounds like I will be buying previously-unpurchasable delicious tea from the states! Thanks Azzrian. I will get in touch when I permit myself to order tea again online (probably about a month?.. that way I won’t feel so crummy about buying so many teas lately hah)
At first I was skeptical. I got a huge whiff of vinegar from the dry leaf. Steeped however it was quite nice. I am not ready to place a rating on this just yet. I want to brew a fresh pot. It did not re-steep well which is kind of a bummer. More to come once I get caught up on some work and make another pot.
Hi Sandy – I still have yet to try it again. Its not that I am not eager to but have been under the weather so just not too focused on focusing on a new tea that I want to love very much. LOL yes that made perfect sense right?
Lovely as always! Having this as my morning brew today. Added some Italian Cream coffee creamer and ice to one cup this morning for a “Latte” like drink. OH YUM! Now enjoying it straight! Always a pleasure to indulge in this one!
I just got back from the dentist. The whole time I was there I managed not to jump out of the chair by thinking of tea. :)
When I got home half of my mouth was and still is numb. I am having to sip this out of only one side of my mouth and yes I have spilled a little on myself.
The first flavor I am getting is malty. I love a malty tea!
I steeped one tarantula as Dylan calls them in about 12 ounces of water for 3 minutes at a boiling temp water.
Its a very smooth, non astringent, non bitter black tea.
I guess it does not matter much about the rating or my feelings on it since I guess they are not being sold anymore on the Teavana site which is a shame.
I will add more tasting notes another time when my palate is fully functioning and I can actually take real sips but so far loving it!
Thank you Missy and Dylan for sending me some!
Preparation
Be careful sipping-you could burn your mouth if you sip on the numb side.
Teavana has at least a couple decent straight black teas, but their overall black selection is very sad.
This one I really like. It’s good hot and iced. It very light and smooth for me. I just want to bounce around after I drink it. Maybe that’s what that tea drunk thing is.
Thanks Scott I will be careful :)
Yeah I have never ordered from Teavana myself but this stuff isn’t bad at all.
Missy I think I did get tea drunk! I broke my glass teapot when drinking this :(
Good thing they are under 5 bucks right now on clearance at the english tea store!!!
This was my second steep. :( I could not brew the bud again because some glass fell into the pot with the bud still in it. :(
I have more though Dylan and Missy were generous and sent me several :) So I will try it again soon. I loved what I had of it !
Got a sample of this thanks to Krystaleyn its very nice. The top was a little scummy due to all the flavoring oils and such but thats not a big deal and pretty typical of a lot of flavored teas, for some reason I notice it even more in Rooibos so maybe it is a rooibos thing too, I dunno. But whatever, it is nice, flavorful, spicy but not too spicy, sweet but not too sweet. I kept looking for some nasty after taste but found none so plus 1 there. I will re-steep as long as I can quit eating all the coconut, apples, and such out of the mesh basket. This is probably not going to be on my “to order” list but I would not turn it down if offered to me by a friend, like this was. :)
Its good.
