82 Tasting Notes
Dry, this smells very much like ‘tea’. Being BOP, I have to remind myself that I don’t have to use as much as I normally would. Sometimes I succeed, other times not so much. Once brewed, this is a very strong smelling tea. I catch a hint of something in the nose but not sure what it is. Fruity, maybe? Not a bad tasting tea and It can definitely handle milk & sugar. Next time I might try that.
This is a pretty smoky smelling tea. It’s not overpowering like some I’ve had but as I’m not a fan of smoky tea, it’s enough. The flavor is a little caramel, a little smoke and a little something else I can’t quite place. It’s a decent enough tea, just not one for me.
The dry leaf smells very fruity. Yes, possibly the ‘stone fruit’ mentioned in the description. While steeping, I don’t get much aroma at all. Maybe a little fruit and tea. But I have to almost submerge my nose to get it. The actual tea is not impressive. I don’t get much flavor from it at all. Though there does seem to be something ‘fruity’ at the back of my throat. This is my second cup of this tea and it seems weaker than the first though time spent steeping it was roughly the same. This requires more experimentation.
Cherry is one of those flavors that gets me to buy things I wouldn’t normally. This tastes of something fruity but I’m not sure it’s cherry. After looking at the ingredient list, I see there isn’t anything cherry about this tea other than the name. Possibly the ‘natural flavors’ but who really knows. It tastes a lot like hibiscus. Who thought that would be a good pairing for almost anything herbal? The hibiscus generally overpowers whatever else it’s with and this is no exception. I suspect that some other people are right and it would be better as an iced tea.
