Another sample I received at Teaopia’s holiday preview event. This is pretty good, although there are some mildly fruity notes that I could do without. Again, I wouldn’t buy this one for myself, but I’d happily drink it if someone served it to me.

I received a couple samples of this tea at Teopia’s recent holiday preview event. I’m not a huge fan of rooibos teas, but this one wasn’t bad. The spices hid the rooibos flavour for the most part. It wasn’t as chocolately as I’d hoped, though, and the anise flavour was a bit too strong. I wouldn’t buy it for myself, but I wouldn’t mind drinking it again if it was offered to me.

Backlogging for yesterday. Can’t wait for my new matchas to arrive so I have something to compare this one to.

Backlogging this one for Saturday. This is one of those teas that smells nicer than it tastes. It’s not that it tastes bad; it’s just a bit of a let-down after the amazing smell it gives off while steeping. It’s a light-tasting oolong, and the first infusion was pretty good, but the second was too floral for my taste. I might try a shorter first infusion next time to try to make the second one closer in taste to the first.
