541 Tasting Notes
I just finished making this for my husband and I. This tea was not at all what I was expecting! I have never had chamomile or lavender in my tea before and I was worried that it would be overpoweringly floral. Not so! This tea is very mellow, smooth, and has a very nice undertone of the lavender. I don’t know if I agree with the steeping instructions on this one. I used 3 tea bags for 16 oz of tea. The box had actually said to use 4. I think that this was nice at just 3 tea bags and just one would probably be good enough.
If anyone needs a highly relaxing and herbal tea this one would fit the bill nicely. I’m mostly just glad that it was sold at the small store near me and the price really isn’t bad.
I just got this in the mail! I love this tea. It really does taste different without the added German rock sugar. Not really in a bad way. It’s just noticeable. This almost tastes like Big Red gum at times. This is a tea that my husband always wants a cup of if I’m brewing some. This tea can take much more of a beating than a 2 min. steep time and I normally like to brew it for 3-4 min. This tea really wakes me up and I would recommend it as a mid-day type tea.
This is the only reason I keep coming back to Teavana. I’ve tried a lot of chais and this is the best, IMO. Glad to meet a fellow fan! :)
I just found the perfect companion to this tea.
Apricot preserves on super crunchy toast. (for more on my jam adventures read here:

This tea is awesome! I really think that I would buy this again. The flavor is really nice, the tin is beautiful, and I can buy it very close by.
I made this for my husband and I for television time! :3 I always over steep this tea. I usually steep this for 4 min. instead of the suggested 3. The smell of this is so strong! It is my go to for chocolate because I don’t really buy sweets. I would suggest this tea to a newcomer to Teavana and to anyone who likes sweet teas.
I can’t believe this is my first time logging this tea! I got this as a wonderful gift from Angrboda. I think the more teas I try as samples/gifts from Kusmi the more I want to place an order. The almond and strawberry are very, very tempting. I must also admit that I love their tins. They look amazing!
This tea is so warm flavor wise. I only steeped it this time at 3 min. so I didn’t get hot-lips flavored tea. This tea is perfect by itself, but my favorite thing to do with it is to make wassil with it. I just make the tea with hot apple juice instead of hot water. It tastes AWESOME! I really like the flavorings of the Kusmi tea and like others, I actually steeped it at a lower temp. than other blacks. This really helps the flavor out.
Preparation
You are quite welcome! I was just glad to be rid of it. I was so disappointed when I came home and thought I’d have a cup of caramel only to discover I’d taken the wrong tin. You can be sure I’m never making that mistake again. I’m so pleased you’re enjoying it. :)
This is yet another Adagio tea that I have been neglecting to drink. I got a sample of this tea last year. I always disliked steeping it because the leaf is so so small! My solution to the steep problem has been to use Teavana tea bags. They solved the mess quickly and I will have to remember it for future steeps. This tea has a great price tag ($6/3oz).
I’m actually really anticipating upping the rating on this because I think that as I have tried more tea that the nuances of this will be more appreciated.
mmmm I think this is much better than other times I have brewed it. Why have I been neglecting this tea?! Very tasty with lots of different nut notes. The chocolate is there, but in the form I like it most: not overly chocolate oil. I steeped for 5min and I think that this was the perfect timing for my taste buds.
I haven’t logged this tea in forever! My stash is almost gone. I have to admit that this lasted me a long time. It is a pretty good blend. It’s not as powerful in the taste department; which is probably why it is still in my stash. The tea is very smooth/creamy. For a pretty plain rooibos this stands out among the ones I have tried. Very tasty!
After a whole day of studying I’m glad to relax with this cuppa! This tea has such tiny little rolled leaves. :3 super cute! While steeping the smell of this reminds me somewhat of brown rice or genmaicha. The leaves are also very darkly colored.
This tea is no pushover! It is very full bodied and would be great for a stronger oolong lover. I’m picking up on the bok choy notes that Mercuryhime was mentioning. Very tasty!
I’m so excited to be drinking this for breakfast! I have come to really love this blend. I have been waiting to make any more tea orders/purchases until later this year and some of my stock goes down. When that time comes I may be getting this in my cupboard. I really loved it and am excited to try even more of Kusmi’s blends. Their tins are really pretty and I love the two that I’ve tried. Who could go wrong! I also saw recently that they have mini tin sets with an assortment of teas. SO CUTE!!! I couldn’t ask for a more gift-able product.
As for this tea, I love the base of this tea. It is apparent in the flavor of the tea without overwhelming it. I do not always enjoy plain black teas; but I love flavored blacks more than others for some reason. I think that certain blends have this hardy/strong base that helps improve the flavoring. This and 52 tea’s Pancake Breakfast are great examples of this.
Overall this is a great tea. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any lover of dessert/flavored varieties.
I only have a tiny bit left (maybe 4 cups?) but if you’d still like to I’ll look through your cupboard!
psh! I got it as part of a package from Angrboda and I’d be happy to share! Besides, you probably do have something I’d like to steal! :p hehehe
My tentacles! They get everywhere! MWAHAHAHAHAHA! I mean, I’m so glad I can share by degrees. :D
Me, I’m a little concerned about this one. I’m out, and the shop where they have a whole lot of Kusmi haven’t had ANY of the caramel the last three times I checked. O.O They only have it in those large fill-a-bag containers, and since I don’t know what the turn over in those are or how many people have had their hands down the tin or whether or not those were clean hands… I’m not so keen. Lucky I got that Toffee from LPdT!
:p I love that many of the teas I’ve had have traveled! It makes it more special :3. I almost ran and got that toffee one after your review Angrboda! It sounds wonderful. How much is the Kusmi shipping exactly?
huh I guess I haven’t ordered from anyone in a long time! It doesn’t sound too bad but I guess that depends on how much I want to buy.
Amy, wasn’t it you who was jonesing for some Hashiri Sencha?
mmm I have been rationing this tea. Mine is the vegan version but the mallow-ness still stands out in this blend. I think this is a great after meal tea. After trying this tea I loved genmaicha in general. I think this should be another tea that should be in the permanent stock. wink wink :p
I totally agree. It’s really comforting and sweet. It’s one of the few teas I’m hoarding. :) All mine!
lolol I actually hit the jackpot with my first 52 teas purchase. I got this and the Pancake Breakfast. I couldn’t have picked a better set of teas to try from this company.
