Even in the short time I puttered around in the work kitchen getting a danish and nuking it for 20 seconds then getting the packets of splenda and creamer, this got over-steeped. There’s a bitterness to it. Blurgh.

I thought it might amuse to hear my hubby’s take on this tea when I gave him a sip yesterday: “It tastes kinda like Froot Loops.”

Oh my, this is good.

I got my cupboard inventoried, and everything is in my Steepster cupboard now except one Verdant pu-erh sample that doesn’t have a database entry.

I didn’t want more of the iced tea, so I decided a little pick-me-up was in order. Went with Euphoria since the idea of something chocolate-y appealed.

I steeped it in my ingenuiTea since I didn’t want the bits floating through one of my screen infusers. It worked well. Decided to try it with half&half since the last mate I tried didn’t really impress me without cream and sweetening. Added some half & half and Splenda to a mug, whipped it with my frother and decanted the mate into it.

Some people who reviewed it said the orange is more prevalent, but I think it’s really nicely balanced with the half & half – that brings the chocolate out. It’s like a good quality milk chocolate bar with orange flavoring. Reminds me a lot of a nice hot cocoa, but without cocoa’s thickness. Cocoa is always a little too thick to me. It’s a mouthfeel thing.

I definitely like this enough to drink the rest of the sample tin.

The instructions on the tin say to bring to just below a rolling boil, which seems too hot for a white and green blend to me. So I watched my kettle like a hawk til it got to about 186 and then snatched it off the base and poured.

Turned out pretty good sweetened with some Splenda and then iced down.

I am drinking it while I update my tea inventory here on Steepster since it seems to have gotten waaaaay off. Buy Nothing Summer is over, and it’s time to plan for some new tea purchases :) But I want to make sure I know what I have and try to drink some of the more ignored stuff first – like this tea!

I really need to take inventory. This isn’t showing up in my stash, but I just finished it up. I am also missing the Laoshan black that I had this morning. I think the database must have burped some of mine out awhile back. Oh well.

Nice enough tea, I don’t think I will reorder though.

I had just enough left for a good cup and a weak cup. Enjoyed the heck out of the good cup! :)

This is definitely something I will re-order. It’s so far the only tea from my test order at David’s that I will re-order, the rest of their stuff is too candy-like for me – added sugar and such.

Brewed up the last of this today in my little white 3 cup pot. Coconut/almond milk for the cream, which is quite good.

Buy Nothing Summer is almost over, time to start researching whose masala chai I want to try next!

Man, I love this tea.

I really wouldn’t call the orchid subtle though, it’s pretty in your face. Luckily, I like it!

All gone now. My last teensy pot of this was brewed and enjoyed. After having the Adagio Masala Chai with the goat milk, I checked to see what other spicy teas I had, and pulled it out. It was quite good as well. I am sad that I am now out.

I have been trying goat milk in my tea this week, and haven’t really found it as good as my old stand-by, half & half. Until now. Usually, there’s this tart aftertaste that says “I’m goat milk!” that wasn’t playing well with my teas to me.

Decided I wanted chai this morning. Set up my little white teapot and started working (today’s my work-from-home day) and then started working and forgot about it for a bit. Once I remembered, I ran downstairs and frothed up a little splenda and the goat milk, poured the tea in and WOW! That’s nice. The chai slaps the goat around a little, and it blends all in with the spices and everyone sings a happy little tune.

So the goat milk seems to just need something a little more intense to stand up to it. Good to know! I don’t know that I’ll make goat milk a regular part of my tea routine, but it’s fun to try things out.
