139 Tasting Notes
This is absolutely delicious, and I think it’s one of the few earl grey teas that I have had. It’s balanced very well.
I enjoyed the golden snails on their own, and this is a nice twist.
This was batch #8. Excellent stuff. I’m very excited to try the wildcrafted dian hong and the wild grey.
The cold and strep throat stuff is going around here. Luckily, I’ve been able to ward off most of the symptoms. I’ve been doing some apple cider vinegar with garlic and water as an antiviral, lots of eucalyptus, frankincense, and citrus essential oils, and lemon and lime water.
I was happy to see that my WP order arrived today. This is a good tea. Good amount of ginger. I don’t usually add sweeteners, but I’m craving something sweet, and the site said adding honey increases the antimicrobial properties. ;)
Flavors: Ginger
I have had this one for a while. Interestingly enough, the first thing I thought of when I smelled the dry leaf (this time) was a candy bar. Definitely a different candy bar, but that’s what came to mind.
This is so much better made light than heavy. I was steeping it for way too long the first few times I have had it. It has a nice woodsy, I would even say nutty taste that I’m assuming is the cypress.
I wouldn’t put this as a daily drinker for myself, but I don’t think that was the intent. It’s now in the category of one of those surprise type of teas that I forget I even have, but when I see it, I’m like “that’s what I want right now.” Interesting tea for sure. I look forward to all the other creative teas Andrew comes up with.
This is tasty stuff, though I’m not getting much french toast. It’s more of a vanilla dessert. I wonder how it compares in the different batches.
Just a thought: AQ2T did really well with the maple syrup taste in their Syrupy Pumpkin Pancake blend. If you guys ever wanted to collaborate, I’d recommend adding some of their syrup flavoring to this, and I think it would be perfect.
Either way, I’ll be buying some more of this when it’s gone.

This is the perfect tea for me at the moment. I have had a very retrospective and nostalgic past day or so. Coming up soon is the beginning of my fourth year since the first of my life-changing brain injuries.
What ifs and questions about existence and consciousness are always interesting to think about. Though the thoughts aren’t very productive, I enjoy the feeling of being mind-blown from time to time. I had lunch with two old track and field teammates from high school yesterday. I also had a lifelong friend over for supper. The conversations brought back good memories but also wishful thinking that made me want to go back in time when life was easier, simpler, more fun, and less painful. Life goes on however, and I must “forge ahead” as my Dad says and be thankful for everything that I do have, including my memories—good and bad.
Now on to the tea: The shui xian is at the forefront. Personally, I wish that there were a little less of it as it’s a bit overpowering. I’m getting the vanilla in the background, and I’m not sure what sandalwood tastes like, but I have about 5 pieces of it in the steeping container (I made it Western). Though it’s not my favorite, it is a very enjoyable tea for these moments. Thanks Andrew for everything that you do for the tea community. And thanks to everyone else. Tea has been something that I look forward to every day, no matter how I’m feeling.
I have had this three times now. I don’t know what I did, but the first time I made it, it was excellent.
I agree with what my mom said “It’s mild.”
It has a little bit of a chocolate taste and some dark fruit. I’ll try more leaf next time and see how that goes.
