421 Tasting Notes
Thank you LiberTEAS for sharing a sample of this with me. It certainly smells malty as I let it steep. The taste is surprisingly not bitter like I have come to expect with most breakfast teas. It tastes a bit malty and rich is the word I would use. But in such a good way. I might at a little sweetener, but I don’t think I’ll need it, have to see as the cup goes. Perfect tea to kick start this perfectly rainy day in NY.
Preparation
I needed a pick me up this afternoon and my stash at work only has herbal tea…that wasn’t going to work. So I hopped on over to the campus bistro thing and got this. As it steeped I swear it smelled like fruit loops…yes the cereal. After the first sip I knew I needed to doctor this up with some sweetener and skim milk. I usually don’t add much of anything to my teas, but this needed it in a big way.
Thankfully we’ll be passing a real Starbucks tonight where I can get a Green Tea Latte mmm…
Have you tried a GTL (not the “Jersey Shores” version lol) w/ mocha and peppermint syrups? Sooo good! I often add white mocha and vanilla as well. No classic for me.
I’ve tried it before, so yeah I can imagine. Although that was also back in the day when they put melon syrup in it (I just didn’t know it).
No. I just don’t like matcha cold unless it’s in juice or lemonade. And I’ve learned I do not like it w/ just plain milk (vanilla isn’t extremely flavored so I still consider that plain lol)- only w/ the addition of chocolate which actually cuts the sweetness.
Thanks to Tea-Licious for this sample. Can’t get on their website to look up what this tea description is. But I can tell you it is very minty! Co-worker smelled in from down the hall! The chocolate flavor was missing at first but that is the flavor I’m left with after each sip…really tasty! Wish I had more!
I noticed the issue with their website…my samples arrived, but now their site seems not to exist : (
Ok so I thought I’d give this a go. After all I like those milk chocolate orange ball things (you know the chocolate you need to slam into a wall to break open). This tastes a bit like that. But I think I added in a little too much of the Wild Orange Blossom this time around. But still tasty. This blend is clearly a work in progress.
Preparation
Bought this as part of a day, afternoon, and evening trilogy pack. First time trying it. There is a funny taste to it and I think it’s the hint of licorice that is tasting a little funny to me. But as long as it does the trick of letting me get to sleep and stay that way I’m on board.
Preparation
Trying this for the first time this morning after many tummy troubles this weekend. It smelled pretty good while infusing. Right now the smell before I sip makes me not want to at all. I’m not sure what that smell is….just something not getting on well with my nose. However, that aside the taste is pretty darn yummy and the rating naturally is based on that. It’s very smooth and I really hope this does the trick. Has anyone ever tried this iced? I imagine that would be pretty good.
I have never been a fan of licorice root. BUT I’m not really tasting that in this tea. What I am tasting is some really good tea. I can really taste the peach aspect of this tea and that’s making me really happy on this sunny, yet chilly afternoon in Upstate, NY. It smells pretty peachy/general green tea to me and that too is making me wish it were a little cooler to drink it right down.
Holy mocha aroma Batman…just the smell of this mate tea woke me up! The first taste was a touch on the bitter side so I added a touch more sugar and a little half and half (took me back to my coffee drinking days). The taste is very much cocoa and mocha. I’m not really getting the vanilla flavor while drinking. That vanilla flavor seems to be what I’m left with after….not bad. I might try mixing this up with the Wild Orange Blossom herbal from Teavana and see what that’s like.
