230 Tasting Notes
I have never had Golden Yunnan prior to drinking this tea. I can taste the honey and the pepper kick as other tasters have mentioned. The smell was very musky and this tasted almost brothy. It was an interesting flavor. I have enough left in my sample from thepuriTea and will drink this again to see what flavors I can find.
I purchased this tea as part of a holiday sampler from Art of Tea.
I LOVE THIS TEA! I will be purchasing more when my sample is gone. The taste is just like the comforting butterscotch candies my grandpa used to have in his pocket. The mouth feel is a little thick but not syrupy and perfectly matches the flavor. The WHite tea is a subtle compliment to the flavor.
Preparation
This came from the bulk bins of my local Wegmans. Wegmans has a GREAT tea selection for a grocery store. They have everything from lower end brands to lose leaf bulk tea you can measure out yourself. I will be adding Wegmans Northboro to the Places tab shortly.
This tea is one of their seasonal offerings. This is a good mix of cinnamon and black tea base. The cinnamon is more subtle then in some other teas that I have sampled. Not to astringent or bitter. This is a great tea for anyone who wants to try a cinnamon tea but does not want to feel like they are drinking cinnamon candy!
I received this tea from a swap at the tea review blog. I drank this as my morning cup on the way to work. The lemon flavor is very strong. It was almost like drinking hot lemonade iced tea. The black tea base is not that memorable – but it is not bad either. Looking at the tea pyramid it seemed pretty clear that this was a higher grade of tea then in the typical Lipton teabag. It did not have that same mouth-drying astringency that some of their other teabag offerings have. I will make this one iced next time and see how it turns out.
Preparation
This just came in the post today. This is a great medley of flavors. Although, like other reviewers stated the spice comes on stronger then the pumpkin. Then, as the tea cools the pumpkin moves to the forefront.
I got this as part of the holiday sampler from art of tea and cant wait to try their other offerings.
Preparation
This tea has a very light flavor. I LOVE the smell — like a spring garden. I clearly smell the different floral notes. In taste I can find the rose but not the jasmine. In the first steep I could clearly make out the floral notes but the tea flavor was in the background. In the second steep the tea is in the forefront and flavors are less obvious.
