301 Tasting Notes
This is a new tea for me (although I’ve had it on the shelf for 4-5 months). For some reason, this afternoon I felt like a flavored green. The aroma is fantastic and the taste was exactly what I was seeking – strong and solid but not too overpowering. Delicious with out sugar and good for two flavorful steeps.
Preparation
I’ve been working on this one all day – most enjoyable with good flavor in every cup. Boiling water; (2) 5 second rinses; 30s steep; another 10 seconds added for each steep after the first. Earthy then buttery then creamy. I’m going to order another cake so that I can keep this around for a long time.
I’ve been experimenting with this new tea. I think I’ve finally settled on 1T in 8oz for 3m 45s. The flavor falls somewhere between Laoshan Black and Wild Mountain Black. I’ve grown quite fond of it. I can count on two delicious steeps but the third one is a bit too weak for my taste.
Preparation
I’ve been enjoying two Verdant blends this weekend – Sweet Cinnamon Pu’er and Chocolate Chamomile Curiosity Brew. Both have provided very enjoyable tea sessions. However, I should mention that in each case I’ve added a little more base tea to the blend. I followed the Verdant guidelines for this Puer blend but I added more puer – the ratio was about 4 to one blend/puer. I really enjoy it this way and was able to have three flavorful infusions. I’ve already added this to my Verdant reorder list.

I’ve already added this blend to my reorder list.
