1040 Tasting Notes
This smells great, and looks great. There are large pieces of dried cherries in with the black tea. When steeped there is some cherry flavor but not as much as I would like. I do have some cherry fruit blend that I may add to this next time to give it more of a cherry punch. All in all was good just not great.
I thought this my be a replacement for my much missed Creamy Nut Oolong from Teaopia. Nope, this isn’t it. This is very similar to Davids Forever Nuts. Annoys me that companies mislead you by the name. This doesn’t really taste like nuts, it doesn’t really taste like Oolong, and I’m not really sure what brulee is suppose to taste like, but I’m sure fruit and cinnamon isn’t it.
All in all this isn’t that bad to drink, it’s just not what I was expecting.
OK this is my first 52Tea experience. Has to start with something that was “out there”. In the package it smelt like salty pineapple. Once steeped, hmmm not sure, but not Hawaiian pizza.
I don’t hate this, it’s strange, it’s odd, it’s everything I expected my first Frank blend experience to be. I got more bacon than one of the other reviewers. I didn’t add any salt, I don’t think I want MORE bacon flavor. I found the pineapple came forward more as it cooled and the bacon took more of a backseat/aftertaste. I’m not sure I’m experienced enough to pick out the rooibos amongst all that is going on. I’ve never had a fruit rooibos, I usually choose something more chocolate or caramel.
I think this might be something that grows on you. Might need to try it again another day and see how that goes. For right now I’m giving it a not bad taste, thumbs up for originality, and a way to go for actually pulling off a tea that tastes like pineapple and bacon.
I tried this again tonight. Was really careful with measuring both tea and water. I still found it to be very weak, and lacking in flavor, UNTIL I added more sugar. I really needed to add a lot of sugar to get the flavors to come out, and by that time I found it to be too sweet. Still not a fan but have upped my rating some. It’s too bad, I really wanted to like this tea.
OK I’m going to admit it. I’m not a huge white tea fan, but I do love cantaloupe. I ordered this because of all the great ratings here and I don’t regret it. This may change my opinion of white teas. It’s really good. Definitely cantaloupe, delicate white tea in the back ground. I must have gotten the temp correct, I don’t have any bitter or astringency. I did add more rock sugar than I think a delicate fruit tea should need, but the sugar really made the flavors pop. Thumbs up.
Interesting. Slightly astringent. Definitely Blueberry, but subtle not in your face fake. Not sure my palate is sophisticated enough to totally understand all that is going on here. Little bit of a strange aftertaste. When it was HOT more astringent, less aftertaste, as it cools less astringent more aftertaste. Wish I had more than just a sample, so that I could try it again and try to wrap my taste buds around it.
It’s amazing what you find when you delve way back into your tea cupboard. This was given to me as a gift several months ago, and has been shuffled around (and back into the far corner) since then. I found it tonight and decided to give it a try. Glad I did.
This is a fun little maple tea. It’s sweet, it’s mapley, it’s a bit creamy. I like it and am sorry that I hadn’t tried it until now.
