drank Eggnog Matcha by Matcha Outlet
3141 tasting notes

I was lucky to get a sample of this one! Thanks Red Leaf Tea!

Steep #1 // water cooled a half hour
Opening the package, it smells EXACTLY LIKE eggnog! How do they do it? HOW DO THEY DO ITTT? Wow. I couldn’t even tell the difference by the scent blindfolded. The flavor is the same way – so much like eggnog! Eggy and with the eggnog spices! I am amazed. I’d say this is the most accurate matcha flavor from Red Leaf of the few I’ve tried. All on their lovely fresh green matcha. I had major focus while reading after drinking this as well. I can’t wait to try it with milk….

Steep#2 // warm milk latte
Somehow with milk, this kind of tastes a bit less like eggnog than with water, which is just a testament to how much this actually tastes like eggnog. It still tastes very much like eggnog with milk… you just get more of the flavor showing through the water. It’s amazing magic. So delicious. It has a natural sweetness. It seems like sugar is in this one, but there isn’t. I’d prefer this over eggnog any day! One of my favorites from Red Leaf.

I actually gave my sample of this to a girl who works at my local starbucks. I made an order and tacked it on when it was free, thinking I’d try it even though I don’t like eggnog. I never got adventerous enough to try it but she was astounded by my generosity. She loved the heck out of it too, and that makes me happy. Gonna have to try matcha before a good reading session too…hmm.

Most of the teas listed in my cupboard are actually sample sizes. I don’t really have 2,000 ounces of tea around here! Many of my teas have only one teaspoon left… maybe two. But I like keeping them in my cupboard list for reference to what I could be sipping. Usually, I write tasting notes once for each tea. I’m still drinking them, just not writing tasting notes each time!

My dislikes: hibiscus, ginger (unless in chai), turmeric, bee pollen, charcoal type flavors

My ratings:
95-100 – Super awesome deliciousness favorites – cupboard essential
80-95 – Also pretty delicious
65-80 – Pretty good
50-65 – Okay
1-50 – Probably won’t want to sip it again

I’m planning on being a Steepsterer as long as there IS a Steepster, so if you’re not hearing from me, that means something happened to my health… if you know what I mean. (Or as evidenced by the great computer hiatus of 2019, something happened to my computer.) :D

Happy sipping!
