Had some residual frustration from yesterday showing up today , so I made a cup of this . It has a nice relaxing chocolate smell and taste !
Preparation
I bought this because it sounded unique, and I got just that! The cayenne was a lot of fun, and there were a nice mix of interesting flavors. However, I think the licorice was a bit overpowering…and I was hoping it would taste more chocolate-y. I added ~1/8 tsp cocoa to it, which helped a bit.
Preparation
As a singer and a tea enthusiast I can’t say enough good things about throat comfort. It is never heavy, always calming and has the most pleasing sweetness. Never have I enjoyed a hint of licorice so much. I’m not a very attentive steeper so take take my steep time with a grain of salt. I highly recommend this tea.
Preparation
A while ago, Yogi tea had some kind of deal where they sent a little sampler pack for free. They sent 2 herbal teas and this pomegranate green tea (“renew”). I found it hidden in a corner of my tea cabinet and figured I’d try it out today.
I heeded the warning on the bag (“to avoid bitter taste, steep for 2-3 minutes in hot, not boiling water”) and steeped for 2 1/2 minutes. The tea is bright pink (from the hibiscus) and really doesn’t have much taste or smell other than hibiscus. Because of that, it reminds me too much of an herbal blend and I’m not impressed. I can’t taste any green tea (or pomegranate, for that matter) and it’s basically just like any other fruit/floral tisane. I am glad I didn’t steep it longer because the last thing I want is a stronger hibiscus flavour.
It’s not awful, but it’s definitely not for me.
Preparation
Update: I HAVE FOUND THE SECRET RECIPE, MASTER! MASTER, IT IS ALIVE!
[/end Frankenstein’s Igor voice] …Ahem. Yes, I am odd.
Try this so-called tea, double bagged, in combination with Tazo’s Decaffeinated Chai, a little half & half, and some Splenda. The inscription of “herbal supplement” on the box should really mean “do not drink this without real tea,” because if you pair it with a strong black, then I don’t think it’s not half bad, kiddles!
Preparation
Okay, so, the first time I tried this, I’m not going to lie, it was AWFUL. It was watery, weak, and barely smelt of anything it promised on the box. It was pathetic, and the one thing that was supposed to make the Grammys bearable [tea solves all my woes, ’kay?] just made it worse, haha.
But. I have been looking for a nice, spicy chocolate blend for ages because I am trying to cut down on my chocaholic tendencies. Since I have no concept where to begin online, figured trying something boxed might be a good start…
There is hope! Today, I steeped it in a smaller mug, double-bagged, for ~10 min., added a dash of milk, and some real sugar. Can’t say it is suddenly a gift from the tutelary Mayan Tea Gods and Goddesses or anything, but it is definite improvement from last night and means I may even be able to finish the box. I taste more of the spice and smell more of the cocoa, which is not exactly the desired balance, but quite tolerable. All of the flavor tends to sit at the bottom of my mug, but I believe in the power of my white chocolate strawberry scone to combat the powers of evil. A new hope? If double-bagged mixed with some chai, it should be even better. I have tried to salvage this tea!
Preparation
A lot of people enjoy this tea for digestive purposes. I would like to add that not only is it great for soothing an upset tummy, but it is also wonderful on an upset throat! A nice hot cup of this can work wonders on a sore throat. It is quite strong, but great for sipping.
I wonder if this is similar to the loose “Throat Soother” I have… mine is sweet and looks like hay. Thank GOD it doesn’t taste like the licorice candy. Not real keen on the taste, but it works like a charm (my mother and I were both very sick w/ horrilbe colds over Christmas) and my aunt got me 1oz for Christmas.
Possibly. I confess to having the bag version. I prefer loose leaf, but will take any tea I can get my dirty little paws on. This one was a gift and I had a very sore throat at the time. I live in Japan, so western herb teas require some effort to get, and it was a big help. I would not call it tasty, and it ruined anything you tried to eat with it. It was very helpful to drink before bed though.
This is a very nice tea for a tea bag. You can taste the ginger and cardamon. You can also smell it coming off the hot tea. I added about 1/4 tsp of splenda and this tea is very warming and satisfying. It is organic and very tasty.
Preparation
This is a delicate chai tea. Its not overpowering at all. You can taste the cinnamon, ginger and cardamon in this tea. It has light peppery notes. It is much lighter than the black chai teas and for me a lot easier to drink. I really enjoyed this tea and so did my wife who is a coffee drinker. I will be drinking more of this tea.
Preparation
Got this one as a tester with a perfume swap.
OMG!! This one is amazing. Not big on anise but
this was lush and coconutty and lovely with milk.
Not overly strong, so don’t try it in a big mug (whoops!)
but point me to where to get some more and I will be there in a heartbeat.
I actually really like this one, despite the sad reviews.
I had this ages ago, and only recently rediscovered it.
Of course its not uber strong so you can’t make it in a jumbo
mug but its lovely with milk and a bit of sugar. (and I just leave the bag in)
Yum!
