Earl Grey is the first tea I ever really fell in love with. I don’t drink it too too often, but it takes me back to such a specific time and place – a time when I realized how soothing and delicious tea could be. This is an excellent Earl Grey. The vanilla is creamy without being overpowering, and the bergamot is lively and fresh. This is great.

Having to be at work at 7:30 = strongest tea I own.

VERY strong, almost coffee-like. Not something I’d drink everyday.

Smoky and a bit bake-y. Adieu, sample.

Can taste the smokiness, which is good. Not so much the fruit or fresh-baked bread. Trying to use up SpecialTeas samples to justify more purchases.

Started the day off with this; needed a strong black because I was up for work at 7:30 on a Sunday.. bleh..

Nothing too special, but yum. Very smooth.

There’s a mintiness here that I don’t remember from drinking this many moons ago. Still a bit too cloyingly sweet for me, but I like that the vanilla is denser and more creamy than the vanilla used in most black teas.

I wish I had more Lapsang Souchong.

Needed something sweet this morning..

Creamier and sweeter than expected. I’m not sure if this would get too sweet over time, but I like it.

EDIT: This definitely got cloyingly sweet the more I drank. I’m not sure if I love this.

Stomach’s a bit upset this morning, so I’m toning this down with some Coffeemate Sweet Italian Creme creamer, which is just about the only thing I’ll put in my tea anymore. So goood.

I forgot to bring tea this morning and this is one of the two bags left in my work stash. Sadness.

Brisk, malty, and full-bodied: everything an Assam should be. Great for first thing in the morning.

Really does taste like a lemon cookie or cake, complete with frosting. So creamy!

Auggy

Oooh, that sounds good. How taste-able is the rooibos?

Sadly, the last cup of a now apparently discontinued tea. Not getting the cocoa as much today. I think I’m going to have to make a SpecialTeas order today; my black tea stockpile is getting dangerously low. Looks like only about 10 or so half-full sample tins of Adagio blacks left. I’ve only tried a few of SpecialTeas’ blacks but I LOVE them, so I want to try more.

My sample is now almost gone of this, and I just went to check SpecialTeas’ site for a steeping time and apparently they no longer sell it. Sad, because I really like this one. It’s smooth as silk with a very light cocoa taste. Not at all like most Ceylons.

Just got my first order from SpecialTeas, and if this tea is any indication, I’ll be ordering from them often. The description is spot on: this tea is smoooth, with a distinct light cocoa flavor. Delicious.
