This is one of my favorites. Custom designed by the Austin Browncoats (Go Browncoats!), I got a nice sample of this and Captain Hammer at Sherwood Forest Faire.

There’s a hint of caramelly sweetness that comes out amidst the black tea, and along with the nuts, gives it this beautiful complexity. (Fits the character, too!)

I did let the water get to boiling this time (2 min, 40 sec), and probably let it steep too long. It had a very bitter flavor I don’t usually get (I usually only heat the water in the microwave for 2 minutes. I can’t wait until I have something to heat my tea up to a specific temperature rather than jut in the microwave!). I’ve found that I often get better results by heating the water to a lower temperature and allowing it to steep for however long, rather than controlling the steeping time (which is often a bit harder for me to do).

Just a little too mild for me. Its delicious though. Just very very mild. Slightly vanilla-y and just barely strawberry-ish. But maybe I didn’t steep it long enough.

Would be lovely for a shiny summer tea party with lots of frilly dresses and mild tea cakes and huge bowls of strawberries.

Definitely not an every day tea though.

Most of what I can taste in this tea involves strawberries and spearmint. There’s some chocolate there, too, if you pay attention and do the taste equivalent of squinting, but I think the other two kind of sweep it away. I’d be careful not to oversteep it, because if you do, there’s almost too much flavor in this blend? And it’s on the edge of that even when you do it right. It’s really, REALLY good, an excellent anytime black tea with a lot of great elements to it, but if it’s overdone, it tries to make them equally strong and ends up being overworked. If you steep it for the right time, though, it’s a great blend and, in my opinion, a wonderful tribute.

I have received my Signature Blends Box from Adagio Teas. This is the 2nd Pass around and I randomly picked this one to log first.

Light, refreshing, but i don’t really taste the individual flavors (maybe a little pear) and I would have rather enjoyed it if I could have but it is sill ok. I am glad to have tried but will not take any for myself to keep. Will pass the rest on.

Not bad… not bad at all! I feel very sleepy right now, and I decided to take something decaffeinated. Serenitea: Kaylee was just right. I’m a big fan of rooibos, especially rooibos vanilla. This blend was complimented nicely by the wild strawberry mix. It wasn’t too fruity or tart, and it added a nice sweetness to the tea. Not very saccharine, but a nice, mild honey-like sweetness. The rooibos vanilla mellowed out the fruits. Calmed me down even more. Sleep well! Good night!
